I was crying on my bed, feeling so powerless.
People don't cry because they're weak, it's because they've been strong for too long, well just like me.
All of a sudden, Melissa came in.
"Oh my god ? Are you crying ? What's wrong ? " she said, while wiping away my tears.
I didn't answer her.
"You're scarring me Sis, does this have something to do to with Jason ? " She asked me again, looking worried.
"Please I don't want to talk about this, this is already stressful enough" I said, still crying.
"Look sis, I'm not leaving you, before Mom and Dad died in that car accident, I promised them to take care of you, and I want to keep that promise, I can't stand watching you cry all day and night."
"Never cry for that person who doesn't know the value of your tears. " She added.
I finally responded : " I'm fine, don't worry."
"I want you to know that every bad situation will have something positive. Even a dead clock shows correct time twice a day, just stay positive, god knows what is best for you. I heard about what happened between you and Jason and I'm sorry." she said.
"Wait what ? Who told you ? " I asked her, surprised.
"Jason." She answered me.
"When did you talk to him ? And why didn't you tell me ? " I told her, starting to get angry.
" Yesterday, he wanted to see you, so I asked him what is happening to you because you seemed weird all these days." She responded.
"Whatever he told you, just don't trust him, he broke my heart Melissa."
" I know, he explained me what happened, but people can change, maybe you should forgive him." She said.
"Are you kidding ? What lies did he tell you exactly ? Look, after what happened, I can't move forward with my life, people are always judging me, calling me names, I just can't do this anymore and Jason is the one who is responsible to all of this." I told her while crying.
" You can't start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one. Never stop doing your best just because someone doesn't give you credit. Every struggle in your life has shaped you into the person you are today so be thankful for the hard times, they can only make you stronger." She said, wanting to comfort me.
She hugged me and kissed my forehead.
I told her : " I need my revenge."
She looked surprised : " No need for revenge. Just sit back and wait. Those who hurt you will eventually screw up themselves and if you're lucky, god will let you watch."
She added :" Just forget what hurt you but never forget what it taught you."
This actually made me smile. I realised that I was so lucky having my sister with me, maybe she's right, the best revenge is to live and prove myself.
I learned something good tonight.
I learned that life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.
