Ikuto's Return

This sweet little One-shot is dedicated to a good reader of mine, @Aliciatindall!!! I was so inspired to write this because of her and I am really happy with the way it turned out. Thank you Alicia!

Amu's Pov

I breathed through the cold air and saw a fog of air as I breathed out. I pulled my scarf up to cover my mouth and nose, to keep my face warm.

I was now 18 years old and a senior in high school. It was currently winter break, and the snow was piling up.

"Hey, Amu-chan! Where we going?" Asked my little Guardian Character, Ran, as she popped up from the snow.

"Yeah! Where?" My other Guardian Character, Miki asked, also popping out of the snow. "Amu-chan, desu, don't catch a cold!!" Yelled a worried little Su as she floated over to me. Dia just smiled at everyone as she always did.

I smiled at Su and held her for a second with my hand. "I'll be fine," I assured her, giving her a grin. "And you two!" I yelled at Ran and Miki. "You are going to catch a cold if you play in the snow like that!" They just gave me a sheepish grin and floated out of the snow.

I continued on walking, to who knows where, until I stopped, to look up at the falling snow from the sky. It looked like a gray world, with white spots falling down and hitting my face every once in a while. I looked around to see where I was and held my breath when I realized where I was.

The park where I first saw him playing his violin at night.

Everything here looked the same as it did six years ago, the gazebo on top of the hill, the bench we sat on, even the trees were still here. Tears welled up in my eyes as all of the memories of him came to me. Of Ikuto. "You idiot! Why did you leave me!" I yelled and my knees feel to the ground, onto the soft snow.

"Amu-chan." I heard my guardian characters mutter. I sniffled, wiping my tears away, "sorry, I'm alright now." I said to them. Worry was still etched in their expressions, so I forced a smile out to make them feel better. "Amu-chan, we're your Guardian Characters, we know when you force out a smile or not." Miki said, crossing her arms.

The smile dropped and I started chasing after her, "I'm trying to make you guys feel better! But you just ruined it!" I yelled, as she laughed and floated away. After that I was truly feeling better and I smiled a little, looking up at the gray sky.

It stopped snowing now, but the snow was still everywhere. "Amu-chan, we need to get home, or else Papa will get worried and start looking for you, like last time." Dia said, giggling at the memory. I remembered it to, when I was in my first year of Highschool, there was a cluster of x-eggs and I lost track of the time while chasing them, luckily I purified them all and when I got home Mama said that Papa was missing because he went out to look for me.

"Don't forget you got in big trouble after that, desu." Su said, smiling. I nodded and all four of my Guardian Characters surrounded me. "Whoever gets home first will get to have the first of Su's famous hot chocolate!" Ran yelled and floated straight ahead as fast a she could.

"Hey! That's not fair!" Miki yelled and chased after her. "Wait for me, desu!" Su wailed and went off, leaving Dia and I. We both smiled at each other and bursted out laughing. "Dia, why don't you go ahead?" I asked her. She shook her head, "I'll be alright, besides, Su will still make everyone hot chocolate." She said.

I nodded and continued walking home.

After we all got home, we all drank a nice cup of hot chocolate and I went upstairs to my room.

When I was in my room, I looked out my balcony screen door and saw that it was dark now. "I'm going to take a hot shower, so I'll be back." I said to the four of them. They didn't respond and instead just nodded, all focusing on a card game they were playing.
