"A good day to you all.We will be arriving in Moscow,Russia very soon. Please practice all safety precautions",a voice said waking me up from a deep peaceful sleep.
I sat up straight and strapped myself onto my seat.I smiled slightly already imagining my life in Russia. Was it going to be sweet or bitter or it was going to be bittersweet?
Nonetheless l told myself l could do this. The plane landed around 1pm since it was a ten hour flight. As l descended from the small set of stairs I breathed in the cold air Russia offered and l felt my lips curling up despite the pain l felt in my body.
I rolled my suitcase outside the large premises and hailed a taxi for myself.I had no idea where l was going but it was quite thrilling just knowing that l am free.
"Please take me to the nearest hotel",I said to the taxi driver and he complied immediately.
He drove to a hotel called Royal Hotel and honestly it was really pretty and very huge.
I paid up once he dropped me off and l stared at the large building towering above me."This is it",l mumbled to myself.
I walked into the hotel and went by the receptionist."Good afternoon Miss",I said and she raised her eyes to look at me.
"What can l do for you?",she said rather rudely and l smiled."I would like to make a reservation for three days please",I said silently thankful that she can speak English.
One thing l learnt from my mom is killing people with kindness when they think the whole world revolves around them.
She began to type into her computer occasionally looking at the scars tainting my face and some exposed parts on my body.I guess she is just afraid of me because of my exterior.
I paid up and she gave me a card to my room."Room 537 is yours",she said and l bowed my head slightly to thank her.
I took a few steps before turning around,"Stop being so rude.It makes you look old and ugly",I said rudely and smiled lightly after such a rude comment.
I rolled my suitcase to the elevator and pressed on the floor number l wanted to go to.The hotel is pretty big so l have a long way to go.
I arrived at my designated room and l closed the door behind me once l entered.I did not sit down and placed my bags in a corner.I began to strip out of my clothes heading to the bathroom.
I went under the shower and sat down on the shower floor letting the cold floor relieve my body from the pain.
As the water ran down my body l found myself crying.Crying for my newly found freedom, for being so lonely once again and crying for warmth and peace.Crying that l left Nathan, Sophie and Santi. Crying for my parents.
