"Mmm." Char mumbles as my hands move instinctively, one sliding up to grip her hair, the other tracing the curves of her waist. Her body pressed against mine and her fresh set of nails graze the back of my neck, sending shivers racking through me. As the kiss deepens I lose myself within it, a feeling I know all too well. Her mouth was warm, familiar, but it didn't ease the restlessness inside of me.
Something wasn't right.
I pull her closer, almost roughly now, forcing the space between us to disappear. I let out a low growl, not of pleasure but of frustration. Her fingers run through my hair, tugging lightly, but it feels distant.
Why is she in my head?
The image of my best friends baby sister keeps replaying in my mind, something feels different. What was different? Why-
"No!" A faint voice cries out. A voice I could recognise almost anywhere.
Speak of the devil. Wait, but that tone in her voice?
Shit.
I snap away from my girlfriend, call it a reflex even. I implore my eyes to work faster, to find where that scream came from before something bad happened.
"What the fuck Luis?"
I'll explain to her later. Still frantically searching, my eyes finally land upon Ria slumped against a wall with some blond prick slowly edging closer.
Oh he doesn't know what he's just got himself into.
Storming up towards them, I grab this fucker by the shirt and without warning my fist connects with his face. His expression is one of shock and pain, eyes squinting, mouth slightly open, and his head snapping to the side from the force of the punch. He stumbles forward, attempting to take a swing at me but I elbow him to the ground.
That'll make sure he doesn't get back up on his feet anytime soon.
I turn towards the trembling girl who was clutching my bicep to steady herself. My jaw muscle ticks just at the sight of her. Everything feels intense, so I take a breath to steady myself.
Luis get a fucking grip.
"Ria." My voice softens. "You good baby sis?"
Shit why do I even call her that anymore?
"Mhmm." She hiccups, the faint sliver of tears glistening down her cheeks.
That's when I notice just how much she is leaning on me and the spilt drink on the ground next to my foot. I clench my fist, the veins on my arm visibly showing. "Ria, what the fuck was in your drink?" I ask, more to myself than the almost unconscious Ria on my arm. I swipe it off the ground to peer inside. Now I've been to my fair share of parties and have experience when it comes to spiked drinks. I crumple it effortlessly, tossing it at the prick splayed on the ground beside us. "I'm taking you home." I growl, too pissed to even hide my anger from her. Placing my hands on her shoulders, I steer Ria through the crowd of people towards my car.

Having no choice but to pick the girl up, I finally managed to seat her comfortably in the passenger seat of my BMW.
"You look so hot when you're mad." Ria burst through the silence, giggling to herself.
Well shit.
"Uhh thanks." I reply, actually lost for words for once. Trying to ignore what had just been said, I quickly thumb a text to Miggy and Char, explaining our quick departure from the rager. Breathing heavily, I then slump forwards to rest my head on the steering wheel for a few minutes.
"Luis, are you okay?"
"I'm fine, Ria." A few seconds pass. "You're the one that's not. I'm taking you home, okay?"
"Why not me, Luis?" She slurs.
Huh?
"Why do you hate me?"
My heart sags a little.
"Ria, I don't hate you, how could I?" I rack my brain for an answer. "What have I ever done to you, when have I ever hurt you?"
"You don't like me. You're with Char instead of me."

You're with Char instead of me.
Ria's words taunt me as I sit beside her bed, watching her chest rise and fall, matching my pounding heart.
"Yo, is she good?" Miguel appears looking panicked, pulling me from my thoughts.
"She'll be alright." I reassure him, knowing he must feel 10x worse that I found her instead of him, her older brother.
"Thank you."
"Anytime brother." I clap him on the back, understanding passing between our eyes.
You're dating Char instead of me.
She doesn't mean it, she doesn't know what she's saying.
"You should go get some sleep, we got training tomorrow."
I wince, getting to training for 9:00am with no sleep is not a feeling I'd like to reminisce. It's not like I'd get any sleep anyway considering the girl slumped in front of me is completely messing with my head, but I guess I should get to my own house.
"Aight, see you then lad." I murmer.
