(Another six months)
After six months Lashawn is staying with us, and today we go to court to officially adopt him, all of our family came to court with us, even Shaun came home for this special day, wow I have a lot of them in my life, my husband, brother and now my soon to be son.
Court started and Ms. Blackwell gave her report, and Mrs. Kellon did too, and they both recommended we be allowed to adopt Lashawn, the judge asked for Lashawn to come up to the bench and he said court recess for five minutes and they went to the judge's office. Sean asked our attorney what's going on, he said it's routine the judge just wants to talk to the boy, Sean was on pins and needles, I told him like our attorney told us it's just routine stop worrying.
After ten minutes they still haven't come back I was beginning to worry myself, another ten minutes went by, finally they came back in and Lashawn sat with the judge, he granted the adoption, he said Lashawn James Kincaid is now our son, court dismissed and we got Lashawn and told Washington he's his brother now, we left and went to kids world all of the family came with us.
We celebrated the new addition to our family, the family gave both boys their energy, Washington is no longer an only child, who knows maybe will adopt another child to fill that big house up.
Later we went home and officially showed Lashawn his room, he'll be sharing with Washington until they get older, we brought him plenty of trucks and cars that he likes, we just want him to feel this is his home now.
Ms. Parker came into the room and started unpacking his things, we took the boys downstairs and let them play with JR their pup, Sean hugged me and said he's so happy we have the boys, and he loves me so much making all this happen for our family. I told him before whatever he wants, he gets, and I'll do whatever it takes to make him and our family happy.
Ms. Parker came out and said she needs to speak with us about Lashawn, we went back into the house, Ms. Parker pulled out Lashawn's meds she said is there something we need to tell her, bae and I looked at each other. She said we should've told her about Lashawn, after all she'll be taking care of that poor baby too.
Yes, Ms. Parker, we should've told you, but we weren't sure if we should, she can be very judgmental about things.
Now look both of you, when it comes to children I have a deep heart for them, and like I said I'm going to be taking care of him, I've never told you this, my grandson lived with me because he's gay and his parents put him out. My grandson was molested by his own cousin, and he gave my baby HIV, like Lashawn he was undetectable and took the same meds that's why I knew what they were for.
As of now I'll be moving in to make sure the boys have their bath and tucked into bed, those are my babies too, they asked me about my grandson doesn't he need me. No, he doesn't, because my grandson died before I started working here, he took his life thinking no one wanted to be bothered with him because of what he had. I've lived with this lie for years, my baby is gone and I had to face it, like you did Mr. Sasha you moved on from Mr. Dontae to make a new life for yourself, and right now Washington has been what I needed and now Lashawn.
Ms. Parker, you should've told us, we consider you family we need someone around here to be tough on us, she said she had to let go on her own like I did, we hugged her, she told us to back off, but we didn't and told her we need her, and she won't admit it, but she needs us too.
She told us to let her go she has work to do around here, and after she gives the boys their bath she'll go home and pack her things so she can move in with us, we really didn't talk about that she made the decision for us, she went upstairs, and we went back outside and played with our boys.
Sean ran around with them, and I watched my family, I looked up and said thanks Dontae for all of this, and God too, not only did he bring Sean into my life, but my two boys. And that's how I let my past love go, so that I could love again.
That's my story.
The End.
