The Abandoned Son Of Krypton (Male Reader X Supergirl)

Fall from Grace Part 2

Krypton was once home to a great and mighty empire that conquered and claimed everything that the planet had to offer before moving on to explore the stars. Technology was free and pushed the boundaries of what was possible with every step. But what's left of Krypton now is just a decaying corpse of a great empire masquerading as one. Any thought of leaving the planet to explore was outlawed and technology was locked away and censored as if something made the people in power fearful but of what.

You once asked your father about it, and he laughed to himself. He responded by saying that he asked his father the same question and will give you the same answer as him. The council was only made out of cowards that were scared of change and advancement because of something that happened millennia ago that they don't even remember.

So that brings up the question of how do you tell a cornered rat that a ship is sinking, maybe it would accept the truth and jump into the water itself to try to survive. but the council were no rats. They instead rejected the truth and labeled the one person that could save them a liar and a false messiah, and since the figure of authority rejected the man. Then the people rejected him too as the Council told them that they were safe.

However, none of that mattered to you as you met the man before during one of your many experiments, and he was a kind man, he cared about Krypton and its people. So it was out of character for him to try to lie to the world and even more so the amount of scientific data that he compiled, made it incredibly hard for you to just call him a simple fool.

But none of that was important right now as you are currently planning the next five days of your life to make it as exciting as possible for you and Kara, the hard part now was to get permission from your father to even go on these little "dates" before the end of the world, but you weren't going to back down as you made your way to his study.

"Good Morning Father, I am sorry for the intrusion of your studies." You perform the standard Kryptonian Salute to respect the position that your father holds. You held the position as you waited for your father to dismiss you from this position.

Your father was currently sitting at his desk reading a PDA that you couldn't make out from here, they seem to be making references to Cryopods and other things, but that wasn't important right now as he began saying. "You are at ease Y/N, you don't need to perform military etiquette here in our own home, especially in times like these."

He placed the PDA on the desk as he got up before walking towards you as he studied what you were currently wearing. It was unusual for you as you didn't put much thought in your clothes as you always wore the standard issue uniform, but you were dressed in casual clothes now. You dropped the salute and straightened your posture as your father approached you, you were slightly nervous at the possibility of him denying you the ability to leave over the next couple of days.

But nothing that you expected from your father never came as he straightened out your clothes for you before looking at you. "You really put on your best for Kara didn't you, maybe relax on the blue next time as our colors are red and black." He dusted off your shoulders before returning to his desk and this left you even more confused.

"Huh?" That was the only response that you could manage to get out as this wasn't the man that you knew your father as, he was much warmer than he was usually. He didn't have his usual military demeanor that he normally has.

Your father stopped in his tracks as he looked back at you equally confused, but he soon realized what the issue was. "Listen Y/N, I know I may be hard on you, but that's just because I wanted you to be strong and have some military structure in your life from an early age to eventually prepare you to be a general." Your father almost choked on his own words as he looked at the PDA on his desk and then back at you.

"I thought we would have more time when you were older, so I just focused on making you strong and hoped everything else would come naturally in life, but we don't have that anymore, do we?" Your father stopped as he reminisced about something before continuing. "So I want you to have as much fun as you possibly can before the world ends, so go have fun with that El girl before it's too late."

You look at your father's back as this was a side of him that you rarely got to see now that you think about it. you only ever saw it when you were still extremely young with you turning to leave the room. But you still manage to say. "Thanks dad and see you later, maybe we can have something nice for dinner for mom's sake."

You left your father to brood in his study as he lifted the PDA with a new light in his eyes as he decided this was his last hope, and he knew the consequences. But he was willing to pay them for all the mistakes he made in his life up to this point. But that was just a father's burden that his son never had to bear as he silently whispered. "Bye Y/N."

You grabbed the keys to the hovercraft, but stopped as you heard your father's words even from as far as the front door. you smiled as you left the house with a purpose that wasn't just some monotonous task of getting injected with something. This was different for once, and you were going to enjoy it, as you had a date in a long series of dates with the girl of your dreams.

(Another quick question, do you guys prefer the short length of these chapters or would you like for them to be extended as part 1, 2 and 3 of fall from grace could had been one big chapter instead. The only downside of this is that it would take longer for me to write it.)
