CHAPTER ONE
ROSE watched the morning sun dazzle through the black curtains. It was time to go up for the first day of her new job, but what she really wanted to do was to lay in her bed and get the never ending sleep. That's probably what every human being thought about when they would wake up to go to work but when Rose thought about it, she really meant it. Every night in bed she always hoped she would never wake up, but at the same time she wanted to live and that's only for one reason - for her sister, her dear sweet sister, Rachel.
Rachel was a kind soul and she always cared about everyone and Rose wish everyday that she knew how she felt, but now it's too late - Rose lost her. But deep down she knows it's not her fault, it was her choice and Rose knows for a fact she's still here by her side. She needs to find peace for both her and her dead sister and for that she will do everything Rachel always wanted to do. When Rachel died Rose found a notebook, which she thought was her diary but it was a notebook filled with things she always wanted to do - a bucket list. The sad part is that she never got the chance to fulfill her dreams, what she think at least since her goals didn't have any checks in the squares.
Rose decided it was time to go up from the bed as she threw away her bedsheets. She doesn't have the time to shower or eat breakfast since she did for a fact get second thoughts about even going to work, but she needs the money. Rose put her hair up in a ponytail and put on her favorite white dress. Rose is going to work at her mom's friend's café and she thought this particular white dress would fit perfectly but also because it was Rachel and she suddenly didn't feel so alone.
She swung the bedroom door open and the window without a drawn curtain lights up the hall. The strong sunlight dazzled her small, blue eyes and automatically she took her hand to cover her eyes up from the strong sun as she turned her head away and instantly got eye-contact with her mother in hall.
"Good morning honey, are you feeling nervous for today." Alice asked her with a nervous smile on her face, afraid of her daughter getting angry with her since she wasn't a very good morning person.
"I'm definitely not nervous... Just, not looking very forward to it." Rose replied.
"But it's for the best, right?" Alice said.
"Yes mom... I actually need to leave right now." Rose said as she began to put her shoes on. Rose said goodbye to her mom and opened up the door. The café were only 5 minutes away but she decided to take her bike since she thought about going to the library afterwards and it's a bit further away.Rose dozed off to her own thoughts and suddenly she was there, at the café - Amelia's corner café. The café was a beautiful place and it gave her a lot of memories - good memories. Since her mom knew the owner Amelia, Rose and Rachel had spent a lot of time here. It made her happy to think about it but at the same time it makes her sad that she didn't get to make more good memories with her sister.
Rose opened up the door to the café and was met with a happy smile, Amelia's smile.
"Hey Rose! How are you? Are you excited for today"Amelia said with excitement.
"Eh... you know I adore this place Amelia, but I'm feeling a little down." Rose said.
"It's okay, do you need a break it's okay I'm not gonna push you too hard" She said always manage to make Rose smile.
"So it's very easy, I promise you. You gonna do the dishes and clean the tables for today." She said and Rose nodded as an answer.Rose inspected the room and suddenly someone opened the door to the café. Rose noticed but didn't really care who came in. She was to busy inspecting the café. She loved the details and the old photos which was printed out on the wall, it made her happy. Rose loved vintage and she had in fact gotten pretty influenced by Amelia's style and Rose had also printed out old vintage pictures to put on her bedroom wall.
