This is just a WHAT IF scenario, not related to the story in any way, but considering I don't think the Devs have the balls to kill off an infant, I'M going to do the job for them.
Dino-Sour was currently on his Jellysaur, and had Pond Dino Cookie hanging onto him as they made their escape. They had both watched as their group had been turned to stone, and Pitaya Dragon stayed back to buy them time as they fled the Longan Dragon. All Dino-Sour could think of was that strange Noodle Cookie's final words..."Run and save the child!" And so he did. If he had stayed back to try and fight, he would only have gotten in Pitaya's way and put Pond Dino Cookie in danger. The smartest move was to get back to Lotus Paradise and warn the Lotus Dragon that the Longan Dragon was coming. That way the Cookies in the Paradise could evacuate and-
Suddenly, Dino-Sour 's thoughts were interrupted by a bright flash of light suddenly coming from behind him. He couldn't see where it came from since it was so bright, but the beam of light managed to hit his Jellysaur. The Jellysaur roared out in pain, and tumbled to the ground.
Dino-Sour: CRAP!
Pond Dino: Bah! D-Daa!
Dino-Sour: Pond Dino Cookie, hang on!
Dino-Sour wrapped his arms around Pond Dino Cookie, making sure to cover the young halfling as best as he could. Dino-Sour rolled onto his back, Pond Dino Cookie flat on top of his stomach. The baby was dazed, but unhurt.
Dino-Sour: Pond Dino Cookie! Are you okay!?
Pond Dino Cookie sniffed, but looked alright. Dino-Sour sighed in relief, and looked around for his Jellysaur, only for his heart to skip a beat when he saw the Jellysaur rolling on the ground, screaming in pain as its body turned into stone, little by little. Dino-Sour immediately ran to his pet Jellysaur.
Dino-Sour: JELLYSAUR! NO, NO! STAY WITH ME!
The Jellysaur cried out, rolling in pain, until only its head was the only part not turned into stone. As the final part of its body began petrifying, the Jellysaur looked at Dino-Sour right in the eyes, as if saying its goodbyes, right until the poor thing was a complete statue.
Dino-Sour: DAMNIT!
Dino-Sour slammed his fists on the ground, and he was about to begin crying, until he heard that clinking sound. That metallic clinking sound that always told you the eyes were near. Pond Dino looked up worriedly at Dino-Sour, unaware of what was happening.
Pond Dino: Da...Dada...?
Dino-Sour's breath hitched, but he quickly picked up Pond Dino Cookie, and began running on foot.
Pond Dino: Da! Da!
Dino-Sour said nothing, but he held onto Pond Dino Cookie tightly, as he kept hearing that metallic sound over and over again. All he could think about was getting back to the Paradise....The Lotus Dragon would defend the Cookies like they said they would! He knew they would! That Dragon wouldn't gather up all those Cookies, if not to protect them, right? Dino-Sour kept running, his pace increasing quickly. He felt like his lungs were on fire, and he had trouble breathing, but as he kept looking down at Pond Dino, he kept remembering what he was there to protect. Dino-Sour didn't know for how long he had been running now, but his eyes began to water when he saw the beach shore. Perfect...He began to pull out the scale cloak Hydrangea had given him, until said cloak fell out of his hands when something had hit him square on the head. Hard. He fell unconscious. Yet, Dino-Sour could still hear the world around him.
Pond Dino: Da...! DADA!
Pond Dino Cookie was calling out for him. Damn it! He had to get up! He couldn't leave Pond Dino alone! Dino-Sour desperately tried to gain consciousness.
Pond Dino: Da- BAAAAH!
Dino-Sour's eyes shot wide awake when he heard Pond Dino Cookie let out a screech. The moment he opened his eyes, his vision was blurry. He couldn't see anything. However, he kept hearing Pond Dino Cookie screaming, so he desperately tried to refocus his vision, and tried to look where the screeches came from. Dino-Sour's vision at this point was still blurry, but it was good enough to see what was happening. He saw the tall, menacing ivory figure, easy to decipher, which was the Longan Dragon. And the Longan Dragon paid no mind to him. As Dino-Sour refocused his vision some more, he could see why. The Dragon held Pond Dino by the ears, the baby screaming in pain, and wriggling around in the air. The Longan Dragon had caught up to him....Did that mean they beat the Pitaya Dragon...? What happened to them!? Did they meet the same fate as the others...? No, nevermind that, his kid was in danger! Dino-Sour stumbled on his knees, until he felt something knock him back again. He looked around. The Longan eyes had surrounded him....Why hadn't they turned him into stone!? Was this some kind of game, forcing him to watch Pond Dino Cookie be tortured!?
Dino-Sour: What...The heck...NO! POND DINO COOKIE! Hey...HEY! DON'T IGNORE ME!
The Longan Dragon didn't spare a glance at Dino-Sour. Instead, they stared at Pond Dino Cookie straight in the eyes, as the little baby looked at them in fear, clearly in agony by being held by their ears. The Longan Dragon simply scrunched up their nose in disgust... A half breed... Something like this had no place within their new world. Such imperfection did not deserve life. The Longan Dragon simply narrowed their eyes, and all of a sudden, Pond Dino Cookie began screeching in pain, as their half dinosaur, and half cookie body began petrifying.
Pond Dino: MAAAAAH! DA...! DADA! BAH!
Dino-Sour's eyes widened, and despite the agony his body was in, he desperately attempted to get up. Yet, even the measly little orbs around him were able to put him down without much effort. Dino-Sour screamed, trying to push his way through the orbs, only for the orbs to hit him back, making his body crack little by little.
Dino-Sour: No! NO!
Dino-Sour's efforts only became non-existent when Pond Dino Cookie turned fully into stone, and the Longan Dragon huffed, and threw the statue down to the ground, shattering it. They dusted their claws off, acting as if they had touched something disgusting.
Dino-Sour: POND DINO COOKIE! POND DINO COOKIE!
Dino-Sour crawled to the remains of the shattered baby, holding the pieces of the infant in his arms. He gasped softly, tears dripping down his eyes as he coughed on his own tears and spit.
Dino-Sour: No...
The Longan Dragon still didn't bother sparing a glance, instead looking at Dino-Sour through their orbs, their face having a look of contempt. They turned around, and waved the floating eyes off.
Longan: Orbs. End that pathetic, sniveling creature. I'm off to to Lotus Paradise.
As the Longan Dragon left, the eyes stared at Dino-Sour. The eyes seemingly hesitated for a moment. But then, within a few seconds, they just shot beams of light of Dino-Sour, watching the last moments of the Cookie, who did everything possible to protect a kin of his own... The eyes stared at the statue of the petrified Cookie for a moment. Eventually, they left, leaving the statue there. Forever remaining to rot in the forest...
The End :)
