Mafuyu's POV:
I woke up, dripping in sweat, phone lost, and my vision blurry.
"Great, how could this night get any worse."
I whispered under my breath, panting and trying to find my phone, when suddenly...
BZZT!
"...ah, there it is..."
I quickly picked up my phone from under my left leg once I felt the vibration, but before picking up my phone to look who messaged me, I took a breather.
...I really, REALLY hoped it was Kanade. We haven't talked AT ALL since I've been sick, and now that I'm thinking about it... I've haven't talked to the rest of nightcord either... I miss everyone so much.
I took once last glance at the back of my phone before flipping it over, my heart racing to see who texted me.
2:47 am: From "K <3"
It was Kanade.
I think my heart might have skipped a beat when I read that notification. My mind felt like it was gonna explode into millions of microscopic pieces, I've never been this happy before.
The message read,
K <3: hey Mafuyu!! :) I'm sorry I haven't been talking to you that much lately, I've also been feeling a bit off lately, Must just be the flu.
I immediately texted back.
Mafuyu: it's okay.
typing...
Mafuyu: I've missed you.
...
K <3 has gone offline.
Damn it.
"Even though I knew she was probably busy... or fell asleep, I still wanted to talk to her more. Like I said- I really, really missed her..."
I caught myself whispering out loud, hmph... I guess I really do, do that a lot...
I felt myself pounce back onto my bed a few seconds later, then I heard chirping noises. I was now waking up to the birds outside, it's morning... yayy... but, what now...?
Maybe I could hangout with Kanade today...?
N-No... what if she's busy? And I would need to ready too... maybe I should just relax today... it's literally the beginning of summer anyways so-
Message from "K <3"
"...oh... my god."
I felt those words slip out of my mouth as I lean back onto my bed frame, I couldn't wait any longer, I have to open that text...
text read, 6:34 am-
K <3: Hey Mafuyu, It's okay if you're busy this evening, but would you like to meet up at our local cafe later? Once again, it's okay if you can't, or don't want to. It's up to you love.
Really..? Does she really mean that?.. maybe I shoul-
"K <3 is typing..."
K <3: oh, and if you wouldn't mind, can Mizuki and Ena come too?
"...damn it."
I said under my breath, once again- I unmeaning-fully.
Why was I even upset? What was I even upset about? What is going on...
I responded quickly.
Mafuyu: yeah, that's okay! I'll definitely be there.
Disappointed without reasoning, I still kept a happy tone, so Kanade wouldn't think I would be mad at her or anything... not that she has any emotion anyways... I mean- I can't even remember that last time I've seen her cry, yet... have I even seen her cry before at all?
"She's probably just really strong..."
No, she is very strong...
Which wasn't a lie, she was a very strong and beautiful girl...
I was getting off topic once again...
I picked up my phone once again to see if Kanade messaged me back yet, and what do you know,
she did.
K<3: ah, alright. Me us there at 2:00, see you soon darling!
