Chapter 4: ** First Impressions **

Lia's Pov

Although I wasn't sure whether to knock on the door or not, three minutes passed after the bodyguard's first knock, but no one opened the door.

I could hear the loud music blasting, which clearly indicated that someone was inside, so I couldn't help but wonder why they weren't opening the door.

I moved a bit nearer and tapped on the door two times, yet there was no response.

I wonder if the loud music is the reason for this; should I try knocking louder?

Taking a deep breath, I steeled myself and hit the door with a loud thud. It was so strong that anyone inside would think the ground was trembling beneath them.

Ouch! My hand! I let out a groan because of the sharp pain in my fingers. It really hurt, and I couldn't help but show how much it bothered me.

As he was preparing his meal, Jungkook noticed some noises, but he brushed it off. However, when a big bang echoed through the kitchen, he couldn't ignore it any longer and had to see what was happening.

Alexa, can you lower the volume a bit? When he yelled, the automatic system adjusted the volume of the music, making it quieter. This way, he could pay more attention to the sounds coming from outside.

Frustration was creeping in, but I took a deep breath and grabbed my phone, dialing Nicki's number. Under my breath, I muttered, "Is the stupid owner really not interested in having me around?"

It seems like Nicky was too busy to answer her phone.
I understand she's focused on the photo shoot, but I'm feeling pretty confused and worn out.

Jungkook could hear soft whispers coming from the other side of the door, and he felt sure that someone was there.

I couldn't help but think that the people around here weren't friendly at all, especially as I stood with my back to the door, debating whether I should stick around or leave.

Ugh, Nicky! You promised you would handle everything! Now, I have to scramble to find a place to stay.

Jungkook peered at the door camera but could only see her back. As he listened to her words, he stepped back from the door and thought to himself, "Ah, this must be Nicky's friend

Lia stepped back a couple of paces and let out a deep sigh before she decided to leave. As she stood there, lost in her thoughts, she leaned against the door, completely unaware of what was about to happen.

Jungkook burst through the door unexpectedly, making her lose her balance and stumble backward.

Just as she was about to fall, Jungkook caught her in his arms. It was like a scene from a movie where everything slows down for a moment.

Jungkook Pov

I'm not really sure what just happened, but when I looked into those green eyes, I felt like I was sinking, and everything around me had disappeared. I was utterly lost in that moment.

She was totally taken aback as she wrapped her hand around my neck to hold herself steady in our position.

I grabbed her by the waist to set her upright once more. She got to her feet, adjusted her outfit, and tucked her hair behind her ear.

She scanned me from head to toe, and I was totally blown away by how gorgeous she was. Honestly, I have no idea who Jeon Jungkook is anymore.

So, you're the one cooking around here, huh? Just a heads up, keep the music down next time. I get it. You probably opened the door late, thinking that your annoying, disrespectful boss was showing up. Her voice pulled me right out of my daydream.
