It was a few hours later that Velvette woke up. Her vision was blurry and she was sweaty as fuck. She reached up and used her arm to wipe the sweat away.
'Wait... that arm was cut off.' Velvette thought.
She looked down and saw that, one, she had her arm back, and two... they were both made of black metal with bright energy glowing between the gaps.
"How do you feel?"
Velvette looked at the corner of the room and saw Emily standing there.
"Emily? What are you doing here?" She asked.
"Checking in on one of my patients. Plus, I saw what you did for Lucy." Emily said with a smile before motioning to Velvette's new arms. "So I decided to do something for you. My uncle Fizz has the same robotics after an accident that I've never been told of cost him his."
Velvette looked at her arms unsure of what to think... well until she realized something.
"Wait, did you cut my other arm off to get this connected?" Velvette asked.
"Yeah, how else would I?" Emily asked.
Velvette reached up to her head and a faint line formed around her neck, before she popped her head off.
"I'm a doll demon, it lets me take my body parts off. I just need a minute to allow my body to do it... hence why I couldn't do anything after you cut my hands off." Velvette explained.
"Really? That's awesome." Emily said with a wide grin.
"Thanks." Velvette said as she put her head back on. "So how did I not bleed out?"
"You don't want to know." Emily said quickly. "You almost didn't make it."
"Okay, you're right, don't want to know." Velvette said, gazing back at her arms. "... Thanks for the arms... might take some time to get used to them."
'I wonder if I can still use my fashion powers with these?' Velvette thought.
"My uncle Fizz can come by and give you some lessons to control them if you want." Emily suggested.
"Uh... sure." Velvette said, "To be honest, your family is a bit scary."
"Hehehehe. I know but I wouldn't have it any other way." Emily said with a smile. "I'm sure you had a nice family when you were alive, right?"
Velvette gave a blank expression as she looked Emily in the eyes.
"Alcoholic Father, Abusive mother, and a brother that carved his name into my back when I was seven... family is not something I like... which is why I was the first one they saw when they entered hell." Velvette said before glaring, curling her new bionic hands into fists. "And the last one before I shoved an angelic steel knife into all of their heads."
Emily lost her smile as she stared at Velvette, seeing the pain she hid in her eyes.
"Velvet-" Emily was cut off as Velvette raised her hand.
"Don't. Please don't, apologizing for my shitty life won't change anything." Velvette said, gazing at her fists. "Besides, it doesn't matter now, they're gone... forever. They won't be able to hurt me ever again."
"...Just because they aren't around to hurt you physically, doesn't mean that thinking about them doesn't hurt you emotionally." Emily said, glancing down as her hair covered her eyes.
Despite being so happy with her NEW family, there are times where Emily thinks about her OLD family. Not in a negative way, but in a good way like remembering the happy times. But sadly, even those are soured by everything that happened.
