Hendrix Architecture & Designs Industries

A knock on my office door pulled my attention from the blueprint before me. The door cracked open and my assistant walked in after I gave her the go-ahead to enter. She walked towards my desk and stood a few feet away per my request.

"Mr. Miller called and he was wondering if you'd push back your meeting until Monday at 12:30 PM, since he hit a snag," She said and I nodded.

"Alright, let him know that if he's not there by 12:30 PM, I'll be leaving and scraping the entire project," I stated and she nodded.

"Yes sir," She responded before leaving.

"Oh, and Mrs. Hendrix isn't back from her meeting with Ms. Delgado. Should I have her call you since you guys scheduled a lunch date this afternoon?" She asked.

"She's my wife. When she wants to call, she will." I shook my head in amusement and she nodded.

"You're right, sir." She smiled bashfully before leaving again.

My eyes shifted back to the blueprint and I picked up the pencil. I continued to add the final touches and then my office phone started to ring. Answering it, I put it on speaker waiting for the other person to speak.

"Mr. Hendrix this is Claire from the Administration Department. Earlier this week I sent you the list of recruits to look over," She said.

"You did, and what?" I asked, picking up the sheet to analyze the blueprint.

"I haven't received them," She replied.

"How would you receive them if you never came to pick them up? Was I supposed to come down there and place them on your desk?" I placed the blueprint back down and took a few steps back.

It's perfect.

"Oh, um... No sir. I'll come pick them up," She said, timidly.

"Is that all?" I asked her.

"Yes sir," She responded.

"On your way up, could you let Killian know that I want to see him?" I inquired, neatly rolling up the blueprint and sliding it into the cylinder case.

"Okay sir," She said and I hung up.

When Killian and Claire came into my office, Claire retrieved the files and left. Killian showed me his digital version of a blueprint. It's our next big project so I needed it to be perfect.

As I reviewed the final blueprint, I couldn't help but feel impressed. Killian and his team had outdone themselves. "Excellent work, Killian," I said, looking up at him. "You and your team have done an outstanding job."

Killian stood before me, his confidence evident. "Thank you, Mr. Hendrix. We're proud of what we've accomplished and believe it will be a valuable asset to the company."

Of, course. They've never disappointed me before and promoting him was one of the best decisions I've made. He's a trustworthy and hardworking employee.

I nodded, my mind already moving to the next phase. "I agree. Let's move forward with the implementation phase. Please coordinate with the relevant departments and ensure a smooth rollout."
