"Hello Milwaukee, how are you doing?" I ask the crowd with a huge smile. They all scream in response and I laugh slightly. "You are a very loud crowd."
I take a drink of water and then watch as a stage manager brings me my mic stand. I hook my microphone to it and adjust the height.
"So this is the sixteenth show? I think it's the sixteenth. I've been working on new music and if it's alright with you guys, I want to sing a new song tonight that nobody has ever heard before."
The crowd cheers and I smile and look around. I spot a few signs and read them over.
"I see your signs by the way, they look beautiful. Thank you for making them. This is called Bang Bang Bang."
The lights change and the band starts up. My dancers shuffle out as I start the song. I run through the song, one that was finished only a few days ago. I was starting to narrow down all of my songs and I think I almost have all that I want. There's a few more to record still but we'll get there.
The crowd cheers even louder than before when I finish the song. Relief floods over me and I glance at Harry side stage. He gives me a smile and a thumbs up, giving me some reassurance that I did a good job.
I continued on with my normal set after that. I started to notice it was getting harder for me to sing though, which majorly freaked me out. When I got backstage, I barely had a voice at all. I'm honestly surprised I got through the whole set. Please let this just be a minor dry throat or something.
"Hello there, Ava Mae," Harry greets me as I walk into my dressing room. I walk past him to get my water bottle and I chug it down.
"Hi," I say. My voice comes out in a croak and I start to cry. This cannot happen. I can't lose my voice while I'm on tour. This is so frustrating.
"Hey," Harry comes closer to me and brushes my hair over my shoulder before running his thumbs over my cheeks to dry them. "Don't cry. I lose my voice sometimes after shows, too. It happens. Just don't talk the rest of the night and drink lots of water, maybe some tea. I'm sure you'll be fine, alright?"
I nod and he kisses my head. I mouth that I love him and he smiles.
"I love you. You smashed it out there tonight. That song sounded awesome live. Now get changed into something more comfortable. I have to go warm up and get ready."
I nod again and he gives me a quick kiss on the lips before he disappears. I go over to the clothing rack that was in the corner. I grab a pair of denim shorts and a hoodie, along with my sneakers.
Despite what Harry said, I was still freaked out. I haven't lost my voice since I was like seven and that's when I didn't know the difference between yelling and talking. I'm sure he's right and it's probably nothing, but I'm scared. More is on the line now compared to being seven years old.
I laid down on the couch and got onto Twitter, not finding any point in going out to the stage now since the boys didn't get up there until nine and it was only 8:30.
Eventually I made my way to the stage with Lottie and Lux. I held Lux in my arms, bouncing her up and down as she rested her head in the crook of my neck. She was tired now, but I'm sure once the boys get on stage she'll be as hyper as ever.
The lights go off and the crowd erupts in screams. I smile and watch the reactions of fans like usual. It was so much fun being able to see everybody so happy.
The boys came out and started singing, making Lux become a little more aware. Once the fireworks went off she wanted down so she could dance.
It sucked not being able to sing along with the boys from where I stood. I wanted to sing on the top of my lungs like I usually do.
