BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

Jayda grumbled as she buried her face into the pillow. She reached her arm out to turn the alarm off in her phone, finding it and pressing the snooze button. Jayda turns over, pulling the covers over her head.

"KANAO! GET OFF THE COUNTER!" Jayda's mother yelled from the kitchen. Jayda's eyes snap open as she sits up quickly, throwing the covers off of her. Mornings, just great. What made a morning even better? School.

Jayda groaned, slipping out of bed and heading for the bathroom.

"Morning stink! Your plates on the counter." Jayda's dad exclaimed, pointing to the plate. Jayda gave a simple wave before walking to the bathroom.

Jayda walked into the bathroom, grabbing her toothbrush and applying toothpaste. She slowly brushed her teeth as she tried not to pass out on the counter.

"Hey Jay, can you pass me my towel?" Briana asked, peeking her head out from behind the shower curtains.

"Geh it yor' shelf." Jayda muttered as she continued to brush her teeth. Briana rolled her eyes, knowing Jayda's morning attitude. Before Briana could say anything, Jayda had already handed her the towel.

"Thank you pooks!" Briana said, turning off the shower and humming a song.

Briana stepped out the shower as she went to brush her teeth and Jayda went to doing her normal hair routine.

"Ooh! Let me straighten your hair! We can twin!" Briana suggested excitedly. Jayda nodded, agreeing.

"Ok, pass me that flat iron!"

Jayda and Briana walk into the kitchen. Both of their hair was straightened out in fluffy wavy curls. You would have never guessed that they weren't related with how similar they looked.

"You two look like twins!" Mrs. Imani squealed, taking out her phone to take pictures. Briana wrapped her arm around Jayda's neck, smiling wildly while holding up a peace sign. Jayda just stood there, looking off to the side as her face stayed neutral.

"You look so cute!" Mrs. Imani said. Briana did different exaggerated poses as Jayda slowly moved out of the camera to grab her bag.

Jayda grabbed her waffle, stuffing it into her mouth. She grabbed Briana's arm, waving her mom and dad goodbye before dragging Briana out of the apartment.

"Hey, I didn't get my waffle!" Briana pouted. Jayda pulled out a waffle in a ziplock bag, handing it to her.

They practically flew down the steps, reaching the bottom. Briana was talking about how annoying this boy was in her science class.

They stop at the crosswalk as cars drive by. Jayda slips on her headphones, leaving one side off her ear to listen to Briana rambling. Briana continued as she laid her head on Jayda's shoulder. Jayda leaned her head to the side so Briana could be comfortable.

When the streetlight goes red they start walking again, this time slower than before. Jayda looks at the time.

"Shit! We' finna be late!" Jayda grabs Briana's hand as she starts running.

They finally stop in front of the school, many kids walking past them as they enter the building.

"And honestly I don't even know why Channel got with him. Like, he was stalking every single app she posted on, following her with different accounts, like he was so obsessed." Briana said, Jayda looked at her crazily, now taking off her headphones.
