Jake Harper, a typical 13-year-old with a passion for video games and a mild disdain for babysitting, was not thrilled about the upcoming week. His parents had left for a business trip, leaving him in charge of his 5-year-old sister, Emily. They'd promised it would be "a great opportunity for responsibility" and had assured him that Emily was "no trouble at all." But Jake knew better; Emily could be a handful when she wanted to be.

The first day was going smoothly. Emily was playing with her dolls in the living room, and Jake was sprawled out on the couch, a game controller in his hand. Everything was peaceful—too peaceful, Jake thought.

"Jake, can you play with me?" Emily's voice piped up, breaking his concentration.

"Maybe later, Em. I'm almost at the next level," Jake mumbled, eyes glued to the screen.

Emily sighed, but instead of whining as she usually would, she stood quietly for a moment. Jake could feel her eyes on him, but he didn't pay much attention until she whispered something under her breath. He couldn't quite make out the words, but they sent a shiver down his spine.

Suddenly, the room felt different—strange, like the air had thickened with some unseen energy. Jake shook off the feeling, thinking it was just his imagination.

"Jake, do you want to play now?" Emily asked again, but this time, her voice sounded...older.

Jake finally looked up, ready to give her a half-hearted "maybe later" when he froze. Emily wasn't the same little girl who had been begging him to play a moment ago. She was taller, her features more mature, her clothes somehow having shifted to fit her now teenage frame. Emily was now 17.

Jake's jaw dropped, the controller slipping from his hands. "What... how... Emily?!"

Emily smiled, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "I told you I wanted to play. But since you didn't want to play with me, I thought I'd make the game more interesting."

Jake stumbled off the couch, his mind racing to make sense of what was happening. "What did you do? How did you...?"

Emily shrugged, as if transforming into a teenager was no big deal. "I'm magic, silly. I've always been, but you were too busy with your games to notice."

Jake's heart pounded in his chest. "But... but you're just a kid!"

"Not anymore," Emily said, her voice now deeper, more authoritative. "And since you didn't want to be the big brother and take care of me, I think it's my turn to take care of you."

Before Jake could protest, Emily waved her hand, and a strange sensation washed over him. His body tingled as if it were being pulled in every direction at once. He tried to fight it, but it was like trying to swim against a powerful current. He felt himself shrinking, his clothes becoming baggier by the second.

When the sensation finally stopped, Jake found himself standing in a pile of clothes that no longer fit him. He looked down at his tiny hands, his heart sinking as he realized what had happened. He was no longer 13—he was 5 years old.

Emily, now towering over him, giggled. "There, that's better. Now you're more my size."

Jake's mind raced with a mix of fear and confusion. "Change me back, Emily! This isn't funny!"

But Emily just smiled and shook her head. "I'm in charge now, little brother. And we're going to have so much fun this week."

Jake's heart pounded in his chest as he realized the full extent of what had just happened. He was no longer the big brother in charge—he was a 5-year-old, at the mercy of his now 17-year-old sister. And something told him that this week was going to be nothing like he had imagined.
