Chapter 49 :
Family And Cherished Memories.

Rishabh had his arm wrapped around Sejal's waist while the whole family gathered in the backyard. Sejal was casually chatting about work, munching on fruits from her plate. Geeta, curious, asked, "Sejal, how's your new boss? Has he arrived yet?"

Sejal pouted slightly, "Not yet. He's coming next week. Apparently, a relative of his passed away, so he couldn't join us sooner."

Geeta's face softened with sympathy. "Oh, that's sad. You should be sweet to him when he arrives. He must be going through a tough time, so stand by him if he seems frustrated or tired."

Sejal nodded, biting into an pineapple slice. "If he's a decent person and gives off a good vibe, I'll definitely do that. But I never get too close to bosses; there's always office politics involved."

Mihir chimed in, "True. The higher up you go, the worse the politics get. Like in our company, Mr. Akshay Bhosale was abusing his power, overworking the employees. But Rishabh Bhai, our respectable and honorable CEO, fired him on the spot and replaced him within an hour."

Sejal's eyes widened as she looked at Rishabh. "Did you really do that?"

Before Rishabh could respond, Mihir jumped in, "Yep! Bhai has a sharp mind and understands people well. He once fired 132 employees in just 5 hours. He even let go of an entire department because they didn't meet deadlines or produce good results."

Rishabh shrugged, his tone calm. "Only those who can bring profit stay in my company. Aur Mihir ko rakhna padta hai warna koi kaam ka wo bhi nahi hai." (And I have to keep Mihir in the company otherwise even he isn't of any work.)

Vanraj, their father, patted Rishabh's shoulder. "It's not easy being a CEO, but Rishabh knows how to manage everything and drive profits without harming employees' personal lives."

Geeta nodded in agreement. "I hope Sejal's new boss is good so she doesn't have to work late or take work home."

Sejal smiled at Geeta. "I've only heard good things about him, so I think he'll be nice."

Sejal, wanting to change the topic, asked the family, "So, what's for dinner tonight?"

Geeta smiled warmly. "We can make anything you like, beta."

Sejal's face lit up with excitement. "Can I have ice cream for dessert?"

Rishabh quickly cut in, "No."

Sejal narrowed her eyes at him, giving him a mean look. "I wasn't asking you, and I don't want your opinion."

Rishabh met her gaze firmly. "You'll get my opinion because I'm the one who takes care of you when you get sick from eating too much ice cream."

Sejal rolled her eyes. "Maa will take care of me if I get sick."

Rishabh wasn't backing down. "No ice cream, Sejal. If you want something else, it can be made or ordered, but ice cream is off the table."

Geeta chimed in, trying to mediate. "Sejal can have a small scoop, Rishabh."

Sejal nodded eagerly. "Yeah, just a small scoop. A teeny tiny scoop."

Rishabh remained firm. "No, and that's final."

Sejal placed her plate on the table and turned to Rishabh, determined. "I will be having ice cream, and that's final. I don't have work tomorrow, it's Sunday, so I'm eating it."

Rishabh repeated sternly, "No and it's Saturday tomorrow, nice try fooling me but that won't work."

Sejal suddenly softened, giving him a small smile. "Okay, I'll listen to you."
