As soon as we entered the common room, I noticed that all of the boys were there waiting for us minus Blaise. I assumed that he was picking up Luna from the Ravenclaw tower since she was officially his date. As the girls all made their way over to their dates, I decided it was time for me to exit the common room and find Cedric so we could walk over to the ball together. He told me he'd wait for me right outside the common room since he wasn't allowed in.

As soon as I walk over to the exit, I hear Theodore call out to me, "Vinny, wait up!"

I turn around and look up at him. He certainly knew how to dress for the occasion. He was wearing black dress robes and had the top few buttons of his collared shirt undone.

"Woah Theo, I think you're missing your..." I tease, motioning to his neck to point out the absence of a bow.

"Ah, yes, that. You see, McMillan, the ladies find me more attractive without one. Besides, I don't have a date so why not give the ladies something to look at, am I right?" He spoke smoothly, winking at me.

I smile in response, "How charming, Theo. I should be on my way to meet my date though..."

"Of course, I just wanted to tell you that you look very lovely tonight...and thank you for the Christmas gift, you really didn't have to." He smiled back.

"Thank you, you look very nice yourself Mr. Nott. I'll see you at the ball." I reply, shooting him one last glance before exiting the common room.

"Merlin Vinny, you look absolutely beautiful!" I hear Cedric state as I walk over to him. He was wearing standard black dress robes but had a burgundy bow to match my dress.

I blush before replying, "Why thank you kind sir, you don't look too bad yourself."

He takes my hand in his and presses a gentle kiss, "Shall we?"

"We shall."

We walked to the Great Hall, arm and arm and conversed all the way there. When we arrived, I immediately noticed Harry and Ron beside the Patil twins. Looks like they found dates after all.

"Bloody hell, look at Weasley robes..." Cedric muttered to me, a small smirk on his face.

I inspect him and stifle a laugh, "Oh Merlin those are horrible, poor guy."

"I feel bad for whatever twin is attending the ball with him." He jokes as I nod in agreement.

"Are you ready to dance in front of the whole student population?" Cedric teases, looking at me with a grin on his face.

I shoot him a look of horror before replying, "Oh Godric no! I bloody hate ballroom dancing; I feel horrible you're stuck dancing with me..."

"Oh I'm sure you're fine, V." He comforts, grabbing both of my hands and placing them in his.
