Chapter 9 - Flashbacks

I didn't sleep at all. I tossed and turned all night. Therefore I was not in a good mood in the morning. Luckily I had no one but myself to take it out on, since Noah and Angelo had left early and I'd guessed Tayte had gone to pick Arii up. I found a note on the fridge:

Gone 2 get Arii. Will bring breakfast back. Tayte x

I grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and went into the sitting room, crashing on the sofa, I shut my eyes, still tired, my body craved sleep.

"You may have wormed your way out by killing me Keane. But you should know, I have men everywhere, and those men are going to hunt you down and kill you. You may have the whole intelligence agency after you, well, you have my gang after you too" Cylan snarled,

"They don't know where we are and they are probably glad to be rid of you" I snapped,

"Oh and that's where you're wrong..."

"Fuck you" he laughed,

"You can't keep your family safe forever Keane" 3 shots then rang out and I looked at my hands which were stained with crimson blood, I looked to my left and saw Tayte and Arii dead, then I looked to my right and saw Noah dead "One day, there's going to come a point where you can't save them, there's going to come a point, when your all alone"

"Keane...Keane, brother, I've got you" I sat up shocked, breathing heavily, Tayte had his arm on my shoulder, "You're okay" I took a few deep breaths, "Are you good?"

"Yeah, sorry, thanks...just a bad dream"

"Are you sure you're okay?" Arii asked as she ran and hugged me,

"Yes, I'm fine. It was nothing"

"How's the pain?" Tayte asked, he wasn't too convinced,

"If your offering then I'm not going to turn the pain relief down" I replied,

"If you even dare get addicted to this stuff, I'm going to beat your arse and I'm not going to hold back either"

"I won't"

"What are you talking about?" Arii said,

"Nothing, don't worry about it" I said,

"Keane's morphine addiction"

"Ignore him; I don't have a morphine addiction"

"O...kay, I'm going to serve up the breakfast before it gets cold" Arii said, I glared at him,

"Don't test me"

"I just don't want this to happen"

"You would never let that happen to me, none of you would" Arii came in and handed me a McDonalds sausage, egg and cheese bagel with a hash brown,

"I just warmed the coffee up in the microwave"

"Thank you"

I finished my food within 5 minutes and downed the coffee within 2.

"Have you heard if Noah and Angelo are there yet?" Arii asked, I pulled out my phone and just as I did a message came through:
