BOOK 1~A Broken Beginning

Chapter 14

      Hollowpaw sighed and padded back to Skyclan. He was unaware that Snowpaw had followed him, and he lied down in the moss and closed his eyes sadly.

     "You alright?" Snowpaw asked.

     Hollowpaw looked up at the white she-cat with grey markings.

     "My sister hates me now..." Hollowpaw sighed.

     "Oh... Sorry to hear..." Snowpaw said, her warm, blue gaze piercing into Hollowpaw.

Hollowpaw sighed and looked down.

     Hollowpaw looked up and gazed at Snowpaw sadly.

     'Maybe we will have a future together.' He thought, his eyes brightening. Snowpaw looked up her eyes also bright. She gazed at him warmly and sat up, looking at him.

     "Want to go to the lake?" He asked nervously. Snowpaw purred happily and jumped to her paws.

     "Sure!" She exclaimed quietly. Hollowpaw purred and padded out of the camp with Snowpaw by his side.

     Hollowpaw smiled at the white she-cat, and she simply returned a smile happily.

     "So, what are we going to do?" Snowpaw asked.

     "I don't know. Something, maybe just talk." Hollowpaw replied.

     "Alright!" Snowpaw purred.

     Hollowpaw felt watched, and he saw that Snowpaw felt it, too. Snowpaw and Hollowpaw glanced around simply before shrugging it. They arrived at the lake and they sat down. Snowpaw gazed at their reflection happily and Hollowpaw faced the shecat.

     "Snowpaw, I was wondering if-" Hollowpaw said before being interrupted.

     "What are you doing?!" Dirtwhisker hissed behind them.

     Echo sighed, slipped past Bone and padded out, giving Crystal and Blade a quick nod before padding off towards the Skyclan territory. She opened her jaws and jogged quickly along a small stream towards the lake, hearing murmurs. Echo hissed, reconizing Hollowpaw's voice. She began a faster run spotting three cats near the lake edge. She watched as a slightly larger tom lashed out at Hollowpaw. Snowpaw next to him hissed and stood before him protectively. The tom shoved her over whispering in her ear and and lashed out at Hollowpaw again. Snowpaw leaped, trying to stop him. Echo began and slow jog over, waiting to see of she was needed. The tom suddenly hit the back of Snowpaw's head, knocking her out and then it happened. The tom darted forward shoving Hollowpaw roughly, Hollowpaw hissed and lashed out at the more experienced warrior. The older tom pinned him, trying to drown the 6 1/2 moon tom. Echo darted, jumping over a bush and bowled the tom over and dug her teeth into his shoulder and smashing his head down. Quickly she slashed her claws across his forehead causing blood to trickle down into his eyes temporarily blinding him.

     "Take Snowpaw and head back, I attacked you guys, ok?" Echo sighed. Hollowpaw gave her one last glance before racing off with the unconscious Snowpaw on his shoulders.
