"You knew of Kira?" (Y/N) questioned as she finally worked up the nerve to move closer to the Shinigami, sitting down cautiously at her desk. "And his name... was Light Yagami?"

"Yes," Edu replied, lowering his gaze.

"And... that's because you like the Shinigami who was attached to the notebook he used?"

Edu didn't say anything for a moment, the silence stretching over the room until a sigh escaped him that made his whole body creak in the process. (Y/N) tilted her head at his reaction, frowning at how mysterious this Shinigami really was.

I wonder what he's thinking about.

He couldn't have possibly known Kira... but his story he does know.

But... why does he look so solemn?

"Honestly, the only reason I dropped my notebook in the first place was because I too was bored of the Shinigami realm," Edu finally spoke, ending the silence that seemed to ring in her ears.

"'Too?'" She quoted, folding her arms over her chest. "What do you mean, 'too?'"

"The Shinigami that followed Kira around... his name is Ryuk, and he was bored of the Shinigami realm as well," Edu further explained as he lifted his head so his glowing red eyes could meet hers. "He dropped his notebook, and the human known as Light Yagami who was bored of his own world found it. He wanted to become God, and so he used the notebook to his advantage. That's all there is to it, really."

"But... that can't be it," she voiced, her tone rising an octave as her features contorted into a soft anger. "Kira wanted to make the world a better place!"

"No..." Edu shook his head. "He didn't."

(Y/N)'s brow twitched at that.

That can't be right.

Kira rid the world of criminals, and only those who defied him!

He never stooped to kill the innocent.

He hated injustice.

So... why was his Shinigami, Ryuk, saying it was the opposite?

"What you're saying... it isn't entirely unfathomable," she reluctantly agreed, slumping back down in her chair as she massaged her brows. "Kira... when he first appeared... his methods were different than further along when L was investigating him."
