Soon, the moon moved westward, and dawn arrived.

Fu Xiao had a restful sleep that night, waking up to the sound of roosters crowing outside. She opened her eyes and saw that it was already bright outside. She got out of her warm bed and dressed herself.

As she stepped out of her room, she saw Grandpa Fu practicing martial arts in the front yard. When he noticed her, he smiled warmly and said, "Xiao Xiao, you're up. Your aunt has boiled some eggs for you in the kitchen. Go and eat."

He spoke to her while continuing his movements with his hands and feet.

Seeing him so engrossed in his practice, she didn't want to interrupt. She went to the kitchen, grabbed a boiled egg, and started eating it while heading toward the back yard, where she heard some noise. Near the wall in the back yard, there was a chicken coop where her aunt, Li Xiufen, was busy feeding the chickens.

She stuffed the last bite of egg yolk into her mouth, walked over, and tossed the eggshell into the coop. She smiled and asked, "Auntie, did I get up late?"

Li Xiufen laughed and replied, "No, your second brother is still asleep. Today's a rest day, so most people in the village haven't woken up yet."

Fu Xiao exclaimed, "Second Brother isn't up yet? What about Big Brother?"

Li Xiufen said, "Your big brother got up early; he's probably studying by now."

"Oh," Fu Xiao responded, and didn't say more. Watching her aunt feed the chickens seemed quite interesting to her, so she took the chicken feed from her aunt's hand and started scattering it into the coop.

Seeing her enjoying herself, Li Xiufen left her to it and went to the master bedroom to wake up Fu Kai. Then she walked to the room of Fu Yu and Fu Hong, opened the door without knocking, walked right to the bed, and gave Fu Hong a slap.

"Slap..."

After waking him up, she turned to her elder son, who was reading at the desk, and asked, "Eldest, have you had breakfast?"

Fu Yu lifted his head from his book and looked at her. "Mom, I've eaten. You can go about your work."

Li Xiufen nodded gently. "Eldest, you can read more when you're back at school. Take some time to relax at home." She glanced at Fu Hong, who was now dressed, and said to the two of them, "Your sister just arrived. You two should take her around the village to get familiar with it."

Fu Yu replied, "Don't worry, Mom. I know."

Fu Hong nodded in agreement.

After Li Xiufen left, Fu Hong glanced at his big brother, who was once again engrossed in his book. He stretched, yawned, and walked out of the room.

When he got to the back yard, he saw Fu Xiao squatting next to the chicken coop. He tiptoed over, squatted down beside her, and asked with a grin, "Sister, what are you doing?"

Fu Xiao put a finger to her lips.

"Shh..."

She signaled him to be quiet and pointed at the hen in the coop. Following her finger, Fu Hong saw only a brooding hen and smiled helplessly. "What's so interesting about a hen laying eggs..."

Indeed, there wasn't much to see with a hen laying eggs, but this hen was different. Just a while ago, on a whim, she had given this hen some spiritual spring water. After drinking it, the hen immediately went into the coop. She was just curious and wanted to see what changes the hen would undergo after drinking the spiritual spring water.
