Behind Blood Red Eyes (Murder Drones x male reader)

Episode 8 : Absolute End Part 2

High above the exoplanet's surface, V, Kira, and Madeleine leap out of the way of one of J's missiles, the flaming eruption sending chunks of permafrost flying in all directions. Slamming her axe into the ground to stop her momentum, Kira quickly darts forward and smacks the murder drone across the face with the flat side of her weapon, causing her opponent to spit some oil on the ground before glaring at her, "You've got some nerve doing that."

"At least I'm not sacrificing an entire planet to some monstrosity." After her retort, Kira ducks, allowing V to pull off a surprise dropkick, launching J into the atmosphere. As the trio watches their opponent fall further, Madeleine rolls her shoulders and cracks her neck before leaping down after the murder drone, using her grappling hook-like hand to dart between the space debris. Once within range, she fires an explosive bolt from her crossbow, the detonation hitting with enough force to throw the disassembly drone downward at immense speeds, generating a massive crater upon J's landing and kicking up a huge cloud of snow.

As V flies down with Kira in her arms and Madeleine grabs onto a tree before she can have a crash landing of her own, J starts crawling out of the crater with a furious expression painted across her face. Hearing the others land, she turns around with both hands now as assault rifles, "You idiots just don't get it! The only way to have any peace of mind is to work with it! We just can't win!"

Gripping the crossbow tightly, Madeleine screams back in rage at the murder drone, looking as if she's ready to rip her head off, "[We'd rather die than be a puppet like you filthy traitor!]" In an instant, the worker drone lets loose another bolt which J shoots out of the sky with one gun, while opening fire on Kira and V with the other.

Having dodged the attack and rolling across the snow, Kira quickly forms a snowball and throws it in J's face, the projectile momentarily blinding her. Wiping away the frost, the murder drone is suddenly kicked in the air by V, which results in both disassembly drones engaging in a dogfight. With bullets raining down across the terrain, the worker drones immediately take cover while sparks from clashing swords or launched missiles periodically light up the area.

Glancing out from behind their respective covers at the mayhem unfolding overhead, the worker drones look at one another before Kira speaks up, worry in her voice, "How are we supposed to kill something that can regenerate any injury it sustains?" Turning to the mother, Madeleine begins growling in frustration as she taps the side of her head, "[If I knew the process behind this ability I'd probably be able to figure out a way to counteract it. There's a living core in every disassembly drone which takes the role of the heart, so destroying it should logically put J down for good, but I doubt that we can keep her still long enough for someone to obliterate it."

Pulling off her scarf, Kira ties her axe to one end and begins spinning the fabric, much to Madeleine's confusion, "[What are you doing?]" Looking back at the modified android, the mother simply steps out of her hiding spot and begins swinging her blade ever faster, "I have a son to get back to, and I'm not letting anyone stop me; if you need J to stand still, then that's what I'll do." The duo suddenly hears V grunting as she's sent flying back towards the chasm, prompting the French-speaking machine to speak up, "[Then you might want to do that quickly.]"

As this is happening, V deflects another missile with a sword as she shouts back at her opponent who's trying one last time to convince her to join her side, "Offer rescinded!" With this final rejection, J stops holding back as they clash blades, "And here I thought you stepped it up after Earth." Putting a foot against V's chest, she forces the murder drone off her and into a wall before glaring down at her, "I never needed either of you."

Just as J is about to fire, something glints in the light behind her before smashing into the murder drone, throwing her to the ground and her explosive off course. Trying to get to her feet, the disassembly drone is suddenly pulled back down and across the ground before feeling something wrap around her neck and force her head back, revealing Kira using her scarf to pin her down.
