A Nun comes from old English, nunne, and is also taken from the "Italian" word "Nonna" which means "grandmother" or is used to address elderly persons. Generally, the word NUN means "Nothing".

A Nun is a woman who concentrates her life on religious service, living under the vows of Poverty, Chastity, and Obedience.

In Roman Catholic Canon Law, only those women living under so-called solemn vows are true "Nuns" in a full sense, whereas those under "simple vows" are called "sisters".

Both Nuns and sisters belong to the church life form of Religious Life, they can also be called "women religious" and are addressed as "Sister."

They have chosen selfless service to others through renunciation, meditation, prayer, fasting, and other ascetic practices. The purpose of following an ascetic life and becoming a Nun is ultimately an other-worldly, transcendent goal, reachable only through profound personal transformation.

I believe that Nuns, in most cases, are only Nuns by name. it's very difficult to see the genuineness in them.

One reason could be a genuine attraction to a spiritual ideal; but another could be the dilemma of trying to escape from the burden of marriage and sexuality, child-bearing, and family bonds for a young woman.

Catholic Nuns, as decreed by Pope Francis, are not allowed to marry, use social media or smartphones. They can't own property or engage in sexual relationships. A married woman cannot become a Nun unless her marriage is annulled legally. But if we glimpse the present situation we can see that almost all kinds of worldly deeds are going on in Nuns' lives which is against the decree of Pope Francis.

In previous years, Nuns were so much faithful to God and responsible towards their services but today's most of the Nuns are disloyal to God and careless towards their services.

"Dirty fish spoils the whole pond" the same thing has happened in Nuns' convents. One fish is producing many fishes who can spoil the life of other faithful Nuns and become a scandal in the eyes of common people.
