Discovery of the Past

As the sun had rosen, I woke up from my dream. "Jeez, the Dream World is indeed some special realm of some sort." I said as I shook my head while I was getting up from my bed. I have to admit, whoever established the Dream World and thought it is a good place to mess around, no, it is not.

Since a few days ago, I have been having the same dream every night. The dream consists of three factors: a dark mist filled up with eyes; a Torii shrine which looks similar to the Hakurei shrine, except that it was abandoned; and a futuristic spacecraft with some sort of cannon equipped on the bottom of it. Like seriously, what kind of dream contains things from the future and things from the past?

Just as I was thinking about the weird dream, someone knocked at my door – my room door. "Oh yea, I forgot I have a temporary researcher here." I said, as I went and got the door for my new roommate who just entered Gensokyo. After I opened the door, a blonde girl with a blue and white marine uniform appeared in front of me. Chiyuri Kitashirakawa, a Level-2 Researcher working for the SCP Foundation... Well at least in the outside world, I do not know how she will work inside Gensokyo for the foundation.

"Breakfast? I'll get them ready, don't worry about it." I said, as the girl began asking me questions related to my daily life. Instead of my daily life, I began talking about my past in Gensokyo. "Like you see here, I have no one else in my house. I am not planning on marrying anyone. I have been constantly trying to get out of Gensokyo, yet I am still here. No clues or methods can be found related to escaping Gensokyo, not even the Hakurei Shrine Maiden tried to help me there." I sighed, as I felt helpless towards the capability of humans inside Gensokyo. "It is essential for humans to be afraid of Youkai, but it feels really jealous to see them flying in the sky while you still have to carry your stuff on the ground. Like turtles, if you may." I said, while looking towards the sky. Speaking of which, humors have said that there used to be a flying turtle. I thought, while waiting for the response from the researcher standing beside me.

Chiyuri arrived in Gensokyo yesterday – as far as I know, since she said she literally found my store within the day she found herself in Gensokyo. It is strange how she managed to find me, a rare outsider in Gensokyo. But whatever, at least I got someone who is willing to do the calculation for me. "Speaking of which, have you tried to calculate how much income I will have for this month? Yea, the past statistics related to the salary of the store has been given to you last night. WHAT? THE STORE IS FAILING? Crap, looks like I gotta work harder." I said, as we walked towards my store in Human Village.

...

"Hey, what is this?" I looked at the ground while we were on the way to my store – there was a kraft folder with the title of "SCP Foundation". "Hey Chiyuri," I said, as I wave my arm towards the Level-2 Researcher, "do you recognize this folder?" I handed the mysterious item to the girl in a set of marine uniforms, to which she replied with a simple answer of "No". "Seriously? I thought you held quite some responsibilities in your investigation in Gensokyo." I said, as I looked at her with a taunting smile. "I was joking. Anyways, congratulations, now you can investigate for your foundation while being inside of Gensokyo!" I clapped my hand in showing some respect, of course, a reference to some tv shows I have watched long ago. "Now, dear Research Kitashirakawa, shall we proceed?" I said, continuing in our way.

...

"Good grief, barely any sales today. Are the Youkai interfering with our sales again? Like, who would like to eat cucumbers everyday non-stop? If the Kappas really want to advertise their favorite foods, at least put in some effort! Not just stealing my valuable customers in the village!" I said, frustratedly. "There is a simple yet difficult reason on why I wish to leave Gensokyo – TO GET RID OF THESE YOUKAI OUT OF MY LIFE!" After expressing my thoughts, I returned to my store. "Hey Chiyuri," I said, as I looked towards the girl on the table, "What is in that folder?" I asked, trying to be as friendly as I could, to which I received the answer of "Expedition-01."
