Warnings: none

Elise sprung awake as the violent October breeze knocked her window open. 'I keep forgetting to latch that' she made a mental note to herself not to forget again, as it was her least favorite way to be greeted by the morning-and had now become a much unwanted routine for her. Elise rubbed her eyes, sitting herself up into a cross-legged position. Her cat, Binx, sprung onto the bed; the bell on his collar giving a small chime as he did so.

It was an old apartment, one that racked up quite a list of things that needed tending to. It was still quite charming, though. It overlooked a narrow London street lined with bikes, and a park just close enough for her to see if she stretched her torso out the window. There was also a fire escape that Elise found herself on almost every night, around the time that her mind ran wild with anecdotes from the day. Binx seemed to like it, too.

Removing the opened book crammed between her mattress and her wall from the night before, Elise made her bed and sauntered to the bathroom. when she moved in a few weeks prior, the whole apartment smelled like "an old man"- as she wrote in a text to her mother. She burned incense and left the windows open all day, and surely enough it now smelled like her.

It was hard to be in a strange and unfamiliar place with no one around that she knew. She was determined to make some new connections, but she was hardly social. Elise spent most of her time reading or writing, no matter the weather. She just hoped she would meet some friends on her brief walks out; which has proven to be ineffective as she stands now in the shower with no known friends.

"girl afraidddddddd... where do his intentions layyyyyy or does he even have anyyyyyy"

She hummed and sang along with one of her favorite Smiths' songs coming from her cd player, occasionally letting the water from the shower fill her mouth.

Elise got dressed and ran out the door rather late this particular morning. Luckily, she had no one waiting on her. Depending on what you define as  lucky.
