"I lost my heart, My home is the ocean. The waves underneath, Will soon be my home again." My voice hummed, vibrating with Kellin's. I pulled and screwed with my necklace, which was one of the many that I had made for myself. It was composed of several black and yellow chains, and a green ball at the end. It kept on getting twisted, and it was annoying as hell. My phone vibrated on my lap, startling me. I picked it up, and gently touched the touch screen to unlock it, and read my new message. It was from Micayla.
"Meet me down at the beach. We're going boy hunting."
I chuckled to myself, and slid my phone into my big black beach bag. I walked over to the radio, and turned it off, my heart beating slower from the sudden absence of Kellin's voice. Hmmm, I thought to myself. 'Boy Hunting'. This aught to be fun. Me and Micayla had always done this. Whenever we were somewhere, and spotted a group of cute guys, we'd give eachother a ring or text, and try to win them over. This time it was the beach. Ahhh. I skipped over to my dresser, and dug out my old bikkinni from last year. It was black and white, with polka dots. I slid on some icy bleached short shorts over that, pulled my dark, thick hair back, and tied it in a high ponytail. I slid my band bracelets on over my scars, grabbed my bag, and ran downstairs. Mom was sitting at the computer, as usual, and didn't even notice me when I slipped outside. "I'm going to the beach, Mum." I yelled. I closed the door before she could respond. I wasn't taking a no.
The sun shined in my eyes, and my feet burned from the hot sand. I slid on my nerdy sunglasses from Hot Topic, and speed walked my way over to the water. It was crowded. The beach was scattered with kids, all throwing sand, or building sand castles. I brushed my bangs back out of my face, and searched for Micayla. She was over by the docks with a few guys. I couldn't see much of the guys, but all I knew was that one was just my type. He had black flippy hair, and was wearing a hoodie over- what I'd hoped to be abs. I did a quick makeup check, Slipping my phone out of my bag, and checking my face in it's reflection. Perfect, I smirked to myself, and headed towards Micayla.
The docks had a breeze that blew my hair all over the place, getting in my lipgloss, screwing my makeup up, and ruining my confidence. Goddamnit. Micayla was leaning casually against the dock's railing, like this was an everyday thing- Talking to hot guys at the beach. She had on her SWS tee, and her short shorts. Her hair was pulled back like mine, and she was laughing at something. As soon as she spotted me, She frantically waved me over. Five heads turned in my direction. One was a guy with dirty blonde hair, cut short- ugh. Dark brown eyes, and a tanned face. He was grinning. I scanned over the rest, And the black haired one caught my eye. And my heart. He was pale, His black flippy hair blowing in the wind, leaning back against the dock railing as Micayla was. His piercing silverish green eyes burned into mine. Oh dear lord. I turned my head to Micayla, and saw her giving me the 'I know what you're thinking, girl.' Look. I walked over to her, and leaned against the dock railing.
"Guys, this is Em. My bestfraand." She slurred, playfully punching me in the arm.
"Hey.." I said to the guys, locking eyes with the black haired one, and giving a small little wave. Micayla pointed to the beach blonde one with brown eyes. "Justin." She said. She went on, pointing to the lighter blonde one with grey eyes. "Jack." She said. She pointed to the one with dyed red hair, and green eyes. "Jesse." She laughed, probably remembering something he'd said earlier. She pointed to the brown haired one with long bangs covering his grey eyes, "Mason." And she pointed to the gorgeous black haired one<3 "L-" She was interrupted. 'L' stepped foward and grabbed my hand, bringing it to his soft lips. "Luke." He mumbled, and kissed my hand. "Ohhhh Luke's gotta crushhh...!"The guys teased. Both me and him turned bright red. Micayla giggled, and I looked over to see Jesse's arms wrapped around her waist. I shivered at the breeze.
Jack nudged Justin's arm, who nudged Mason's. Focusing on three girls playing volleyball in the distance, and they all walked off towards them. I looked back at Luke, who was next to me. The sun was going down over the lake. Another chilly breeze ran by, and I rubbed my arms. Luke seemed to notice, and he stepped closer, pulling off his black skull hoodie, revealing his gorgeous 6-pack, and handing it to me. I blushed deeply. "Put it on," He said shyly. I slid the hoodie on, Still warm from his body, and snuggled up close to him on the bench by the dock. Micayla and Jesse were nowhere in sight. It was just me and Luke. All alone.
