Princess Stella Luna's days at the Lyria Kingdom had been filled with royal duties, formal events, and a steady immersion into the complexities of her role as the representative of the Cene Kingdom. Despite the grandeur of her surroundings, she longed for a change of pace—a chance to explore beyond the palace walls and experience the world outside the kingdom's confines. After days of contemplation, Stella approached Grand Duke Gideon and Grand Duchess Anne with her request. The idea of venturing outside the palace intrigued her, but she was keenly aware of the necessity to remain inconspicuous. The unique color of her hair, a shimmering golden hue, was a giveaway that she was of royal descent, and thus it required a clever disguise.
"Your Highness," Grand Duchess Anne began with a warm smile, "we understand your desire to explore beyond our walls. It's a rare thing for us to grant such a request, but we will support you. However, given your unique appearance, we must ensure that you remain unrecognized."
Stella nodded in agreement. "Yes, I was thinking of a disguise. Perhaps a cape or something that can conceal my hair. I don't want to draw unnecessary attention."
The Grand Duchess agreed. "A cape will work well. We shall keep you safe and make sure that your identity remains concealed. I trust you understand the importance of blending in while you are out."
With the plan set, Stella was both excited and nervous. The day of her excursion arrived, and she prepared for the outing with a mix of anticipation and apprehension. Lilia, her lady-in-waiting, had selected a practical yet stylish outfit for her—a set of normal combat clothes that would be suitable for traveling. Over this, Stella would wear a deep blue cape that covered her distinctive golden hair.
Duke Luther had graciously agreed to accompany her on this adventure. Though initially reluctant, he was eventually convinced to take part. The idea of traveling incognito appealed to him, and he found himself intrigued by the opportunity to spend time with the princess outside the formalities of the court.
When they met in the courtyard, Duke Luther was dressed in simple attire that made him blend in with the common folk. His usual regal demeanor was replaced with a more relaxed and approachable air. The horses were already prepared, each adorned with basic tack, ready for the journey ahead.
Stella's eyes were immediately drawn to a stunning white mare that stood apart from the rest. The horse's long, flowing mane and graceful stature were truly magnificent, but Stella hesitated, feeling her height might be a challenge.
As she approached the horse, Duke Luther observed her with a knowing smile. "I see you've chosen quite a majestic steed. Do you require assistance?"
"I can manage," Stella replied with determination. "My second brother Caspian taught me how to ride."
Luther's eyebrows lifted in surprise. "Really? Well then, let us see if the princess can mount this horse without help."
Stella took a deep breath and attempted to mount the horse, but found herself struggling. The horse was indeed tall, and her petite frame made it difficult for her to reach the saddle. Duke Luther approached and offered his hand with a gentle smile.
"Allow me," he said, helping her onto the horse with a practiced ease. "The princess can ride but can't quite mount? That's quite an amusing sight."
"Thank you, my lord," Stella said, rolling her eyes playfully as she accepted his assistance. "I appreciate your help."
With the preparations complete, the group set out on their journey. The palace gates opened to reveal the sprawling landscape of the Lyria Kingdom. The countryside was a lush tapestry of rolling hills, verdant fields, and picturesque villages. Stella's heart swelled with excitement as they began their ride, her senses overwhelmed by the beauty and serenity of the surroundings.
