War had been declared many times in the Kingdom's history, by many different kings.
The newest king, Scorpio, who was only twenty-three had just declared they were once again at war.
Every Baron, Viscount, and all other possible titles had been called to become leaders of troops. People as young as eighteen were being forced to join this terrible war and loose their lives for a cause that could be sorted on paper and written in ink, not blood.
Being a Baron himself, Leo had of course been forced to join this war as a general and attack planner.
"War, absolutely ridiculous" Leo muttered as he signed yet another piece of parchment.
"Just another excuse for our king to kill off all the people in this kingdom" he added under his breath as he read yet another piece of paper.
He and the king had only met once before, when they were very young. His impression of the king was excellent and Leo had always hoped to meet him again.
As a seven year old the king had only trained with swords and practiced fighting, like he had been preparing for war for years.
"Will all due respect sir, our king did not start this war" a girls voice chimed in and Leo looked up from his desk. A scrawny red headed girl stood in the corner of the room, and everyone else was looking at her mortified.
Leo had almost forgotten he was not alone in his study, all of his servants had gathered to await his orders.
"You must be the new maid my mother sent for me to take to war, you should know your place" Leo said dismissively and the girl scowled.
"I am no maid, I am Nursemaid to King Scorpio and Queen Aquarius themselves" she snapped and Leo looked up at her surprised.
"Even if you were a nursemaid, you are my maid now and you will learn your place" he said calmly and the girl looked ready to shout at him.
"Leave" he commanded and the girl scowled but left the room silently.
"My lord I am so sorry, I shall speak with her" Libra said hurriedly, she was the head maid of the estate.
"No need Libra, she will be the one to accompany me regardless" Leo said and returned to his paperwork, he had worse things to think about that a rude maid.
Hours flew past of paperwork, there was so much he had to finish before he left for war the next morning.
Leaving someone in charge of the house was never an easy task, you had to have a lot of trust in the person you were leaving in charge.
This required a lot of paperwork Leo had to go through with the person he was leaving in charge, a young man by the name of Taurus who happened to be the older sister of the new maid he was taking to war.
The rude girl had completely slipped his mind, she was not a worry to him at all but she had stood out from the other maids.
As a token of appreciation from the king due to all the service he was forcing the baron's into he had gifted them all a maid to take with them, a maid who was highly trained prepared to deal with injury's that the barons might face.
Although Leo must have gotten picked last for a maid, a nursemaid hardly had all the injury training she would need to accompany him to war.
She was the only servant he had decided to take to war, he could deal with everything else by himself.
