To hold your head high. That's what he did to the very end. The end, however, already came for him. His body was standing firmly on its feet surrounded by the ashes of the Demon King. Scarlet red covered him like a true friend that he never wanted. He promised to carry on the task that he also never wanted. No one ever wanted. To live a quiet life with family and friends - life that not only him was dreaming of but their destiny led them to a place with no way back. Demons should never exist in this beautiful world. Their joint effort erased these ugly creatures from the world now and they were only a history. It seemed worth it. This whole journey. This whole weight that he carried crushed his heart, heart full of kindness and love. But it was gone now. It wasn't moving just like any other part of him. Why then no one spoke a word? What could be a possible reason for tears and sad expression. There was one girl that tried to run to him but she was stopped by the Water Hashira. There was another girl as well with river flowing down her face as she tried to free herself from the grip of the Insect Pillar. Shouldn't they be happy? They won after all. Wasn't the price for that victory very fair? Not for them. Not for these two at least but they weren't the only ones. He was the strongest. The Sun Hashira. However to them he was a friend, someone they loved and it's easy to understand that they wanted him back.
There was no way back.
Was that really his destiny?
Or rather a curse?Couldn't he change that destiny? It was his after all.
Or maybe he shared it with someone?
Or needed someone to face it with him.

"I am heading down the mountain!" - boy with hanafuda earrings and the mark on his forehead shouted as he was putting a basket with charcoal on his back
"Tanjiro, I already told you that you were overworking yourself lately and you should take a break, you earned far more money than we need, why don't you stay here for today" - a soft and calm voice of his mother Kie spoke as she was leaving their home to meet her oldest son
"At least let me help and go with you big bro" - his younger brother Takeo who always admired his brother and saw him as their father who passed away quite some time ago tried to be like him and help him as often as he could even if Tanjiro was kind of person who would rather pass out from exhaustion than let somebody help him
"You can't go with me, someone needs to stay with our family and you are a big man so I know you can do it, and as for you words mother I already packed myself up so I think I have to continue with my journey, besides its getting really cold and I think villagers won't mind some extra charcoal" - every time he spoke you would think that his voice had a power to calm down the loudest hurricane
"You put too much on your shoulders son. Even if they are very strong some day even you will break under the weight you try to put on them. Try to rest a bit and let others help you. "You must have misheard"
"You know you can't lie, right Tanjiro?
{Damn it that stupid face, sometimes I wish I was less truthful}
