A/N my internet is out but I just realised I can still write so yeah :) I'll post this when it's back
Also this would never happen in real life but anyways
Monday the 22nd of April 2024. The day that everything changed.
That day was one of the days that Travis didn't have practice, and so he decided to join Taylor. He sat on one of the chairs at the back of the room whilst Taylor and the dancers ran through some of their new tortured poets department choreography. What they had been working on was the transition from fortnight into the smallest man who ever lived, using the bed. They had all marvelled at it as it got wheeled into the room, and the novelty of it had not worn of yet.
"Lets go from Jan's solo guys!" Mandy shouted above the noise the group was making. They all got into their positions, Taylor and Jan on the bed and the other dancers around it. They had reached the part where Jan lifted Taylor off the platform and into the floor. Everything was going so smoothly, up until then.
It wasn't clear what had happened; maybe it was the fact that the wheels weren't locked into place and the bed rolled backwards, or maybe it was the fact that Jan just didn't have a firm grip on Taylor. But whatever it was, it went on to change Taylors life and anyone who knew her.
Before anyone could react Taylor was slipping out of Jan's grasp, falling onto the floor, her head connecting with the metal, making a loud thwack. Travis jumped up from his seat as the dancers around her rushed to her side, crouching next to her.
She was out cold, her hair laid out around her in an angelic way.
"Is she okay?!" Travis shouted, running over.
"Give her some space" Mandy instructed as the dancers fanned out, watching from afar. Travis knelt down next to her, feeling for a pulse.
"We should call an ambulance" Mandy said, looking up at Travis who was knelt opposite her."I'm so sorry, I don't know what happened, I'm sorry" Jan kept apologising over and over as the other dancers around him tried to calm him.
"Don't worry, it's not your fault" Mandy told him as she went across the room for her phone. Travis was still sat next to his girlfriend, stroking her hair gently. The ambulance arrived as she was loaded into the back, Travis sat next to her holding her hand. She had an oxygen mask on, as well as various other machines tracking her heart. She opened her eyes slowly, squinting as they adjusted to the bright light.
"You're awake" Travis breathed a sigh of relief, holding Taylor's hand tightly. Taylor looked up at him, her eyes wide and scared."Miss Swift? You suffered a fall and hit your head. You were out for a while so this is just a precaution, okay? No need to be scared" the paramedic told her gently. Taylor nodded, closing her eyes.
She had a couple of scans done and they all came back fine, so that afternoon she was allowed to go home. She was told to rest, and if she got a headache later on that was expected. Travis helped her into bed and she slept through the whole afternoon and into the night.
The first time she started showing symptoms was three weeks after that fall.
"Trav? Where did you put my keys?" Taylor asked whilst brushing her hair.
"They're on the little table in the living room" Travis called from the bathroom, where he was shaving.
"Okay, thank you!" Taylor replied, going downstairs to start making breakfast.Travis came down a little while later, giving her a kiss on the cheek as he passed.
"Wait Travis?" Taylor asked, looking up at him.
"Yeah?" He replied, sitting down at the table.
"Where did you leave my keys?" She asked, taking another bite of pancake.
" I left them on the little table in the living room" Travis sighed. "I've already told you this Taylor"
"Sorry" Taylor laughed.
