In a world where magical creatures such as dragons and demons were feared, there exist a human that lives in peace with one.

Not just any magical creature, but a hybrid. Half dragon and half demon. He is said to be a wild beast and a heartless monster.

But is that really the truth?

"Lucy!!!"The hybrid called out as he grinned and held up a gigantic fish he had caught. "Look how big this fish is!!"

"Where did you find it Natsu..."Lucy, a completely normal human who had somehow met the said beast, befriended him and even won his heart over, said in disbelief.

"I was fishing with happy when this fish came out and tried to eat him",Natsu said in a nonchalant voice. As if his best friend the exceeds wasn't almost eaten.

"Huhu, Lucyyy",The exceed, a creature said to shy away from human of either fear or disgust, whined and clung onto her. "It was so scaryy."

"There, there",Lucy patted the said exceed. "Natsu already killed it. You're safe now happy."

"Aye..."The exceed sniffed.

"We're gonna have a feast!"Natsu exclaimed happily and was about to grill the fish when he got hit on the head.

Had it been someone completely different, perhaps they would've died. But not Lucy heartfilia, his friend, his lover, his home.

"How many times have I told you not to just grill it! Season it atleast a little!"Lucy scolded.

"Geez, you're so picky",Natsu complained and earned another hit from his beloved.

"You just eat every meat you see, of course you wouldn't understand!"Lucy huffed. "Now go and wash the fish, then place it nicely on the table. I'm going to cook it."

The beast frowned and stomped on his way, but he still did as he was told.

"Good job",Lucy praised her hybrid for not messing it up like he'd usually do and gave him a headpat as a reward before she began cooking.

Natsu's dragon tail wagged happily behind him, pleased that he was praised and received a headpat.

As they ate together, Natsu's ears perked instinctly as he caught a suspicious noise.

"Is everything okay?"Lucy asked, oblivious to the noises.

"Yup, imma go grab more water." The beast stood up and pretended to go to the kitchen but instead went outside.

He looked back into the cave, making sure his lover was clueless and staying with Happy.

His soft gaze stayed as he looked at her, but it hardened the moment he looked away. "Now,"The beast looked into the woods. "Who dares interrupts my family time?"

The reality is, the hybrid is indeed dangerous and ruthless. But he is not heartless. Deep within him, there is a heart that cares for his beloved and best friend.
