"Mom..." The small black diamond gazed up at her mother un sure of how to act. Her mother was fine until she walked in, what in her made her act this way?
"Go to your room Black" Yellow diamond growled at th smaller gem. The small gem teared up and ran off towards her cold and dark prison known as a room. How could she impress her mother, all she wanted was her approval. The small gem slumped down beside her bad tears streaming her face as she sobbed into her arms. She looked up at the wall where drawings of her with a 'happy' family lined the walls, something diamond would never know. She was sure she could never learn about the emotions the other gems spoke of. Love. Compassion. Kindness. Care. Happy emotions that she wasn't worthy of, atleast in her eyes she wasn't.
"Mother im ready now." A thousand years had passed by now, and that young and fragile diamond had grown into a strong young warrior, despite her defectivity. She was told she was forbidden to fuse, ever. Now she was about to take her final warrior exam, this would allow her to fight in the war, to fight alongside her mother and brother, the only thing she wanted was to see her mother be proud. Yellow diamond waved her hand as the exam began, through a series of battles that black diamond gem fought as if her life would end if she lost. She needed this, she wanted to be worth something to her mother, anything.
Then it happened.
One of the holographic warriors sword went straight through her chest, it teared at her flesh causeing her an extreme amount of pain to course through her, she screamed as tears flooded her vision amd the holograms dissapeared the last thing she heard was heavy footsteps approaching her before she retreated to regenerate.
Diamond sat on the homeworlder ship helping to fix up the injured gems that where returning from the war battlegrounds. She looked up from her work to see her mother speaking with some warriors that had returned unharmed. She got up and walked over a hopeful look in her eye as her mother turned towards her as the warriors dispatched.
"Mother... I know what you said last time but... Maybe I could-" she was stopped when her mother gave her a stearn look as the two walked into the ships docking bay,
"Diamond we spoke about this, you are a defective. You can't fight" her mothers cold words hurt the smaller gem.
"What do you want from me then?!" Rage filled the black diamond gems form. "First you wanted me to fight!! Now all you want is for me to suffer in the medicine bay!! I don't understand you Yellow diamond!!" The small diamond looked up at the taller one with tears streaming down her face as Yellow stared in shock.
"Forget it! I'll make this easier!!" The small gem ran to the ship bay doors and opened them leaping out and falling towards the ocean. The last thing she saw was her mothers face and the faces of her gem friends staring in shock, two of her friends in tears. She closed her eyes as she hit the cold ocean water and smiled muttering "Are you proud yet mother?" Some tears slipped into the ocean as she sunk "are you?"
