Fall From Grace Part 5

Today was going to be the most impactful and important day of your life, but you didn't know that yet as you were content with just having this date with Kara. You check your watch to look at the time with it still being 8:35, You hoped that you were early enough to deal with this thing for Jor-El and still be early for Kara.

You lightly jog up to Kara's front door before ringing the doorbell, it didn't take long for some to open the door, but it wasn't Jor-El this time but Kara's mother as she smiles at you. "Oh my, aren't you here early darling. You must be pretty excited about your date with my Kara?"

You weren't expecting her to answer the door, but you returned her smile as something about her cheeriness was infectious. "Partially as I want to spend our last days together spending it to the fullest, but the other half is my father as he sent me to help Jor-El with something."

Alura seemed to instantly catch up to what was happening, her smile seeming to have disappeared just for a second before regaining composure. "Well you better hurry if you want to be early for your date, and I can't wait to host you at dinner as I will be able to get to know you better."

You watch as Alura makes room for you to pass, you walk by her as she clearly had some idea of what your father and her husband was doing. "I can't wait to taste your famous cooking, Kara always likes to tell me about the differences between machine cooked and homemade food."

"Well see you goodnight, I will tell Kara that you are just doing something with her dad and uncle." Alura waves you goodbye before heading upstairs, you are left to ponder the strangeness of her actions as you think back to what happened with your father this morning.

Waking up early was never a problem for you as it was something trained into you, soldiers had to wake up early and at the drop of the hat encase combat with the enemy. But today was something different as you woke up two hours earlier than usual. You contemplated sleeping in, but it was a waste of time as you hopped out of bed.

You walked down the hallways from your room to the training room as you decide to just extend your regiment, you start your morning regiment as you push your body to its physical limits. You thought about everything that has happened so far.

'Firstly was the news that Krypton is going to be destroyed in less than four days, then there is the council shutting down any attempts to solve the problem or save the people. Secondly I actually managed to ask out Kara even if it's for a short couple days, I feel happy for that reason alone despite everything else.'

You turned off the treadmill as you grabbed a nearby towel as you wiped the sweat off your face, you walked up to the next section of the training room as you started to lift the weights and deadlift.

'The only thing that really makes me concerned right now is my father and Kara's uncle as they seem to be planning something, I just hope whatever it is doesn't blow up in their face. But father has been a lot softer(?) with me over the last couple of days, the end of the world seemed to have made him retrospective.'

Two hours seems to fly by without you noticing as you continued to workout and push yourself, Dru-Zod was making his way to your room before he spotted that you were in the training hall. "Good morning Y/N, why are you in the training hall so early in the morning? Don't you have a date soon?"

You were caught off-guard by the sudden appearance of your father, he hardly comes to this part of the house, and normally he is at his post or in his office around this time, but you salute anyway. "Good morning Father, yes I have a date today, but I woke up a little too early and decided to work out to blow off some steam."
