"Ding!"

Hesitantly, and with a long, white, silk rope tied against her body, Jane walked to the kitchen counter and pulled about the slice of toasted bread from the toaster.

"You know I've been thinking, why is there a 'D' in fridge and not in refrigerator?." A tall, huge, brown skin guy with a broad chest said, coming from the stairs. He was so hot.

"Leo what'd you spend your whole night doing?."Randolph asked with a cup of tea lifted to his lips. Randolph was also muscular (guess it ran in the blood.) With a full face of neatly carved brown beared. He looked like a dad at his early 30's but he was at his late 40's.

Randolph was seated on the dinning table patiently waiting for his wife Jane, to complete the arrangement of breakfast on the table.

The table seemed occupied with platter of scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage links, fries, pancakes, burritos and tea.

Then came Been running across the porch with just his boxers on. Ben who was supposed to be addressed as just a relative had his parents dead in an accident at a tender age.

So as a result of that, and Jane being a sister to Ben's mom they had to take him in and raise him as their very own son together with Leo after which Mavis joined them four years later.

So presently, Ben was now addressed as the second child. He was a darksinned, leany type with dark eyes. He was breathing heavily as he stood before the entrance screen door.

"You guys should've seen my amazing skills in the pool, it was killin man." He explained proudly.

Stepping down the stairs came Mavis. She was on a black oversized shirt, white shorts and socks. Her long, brown coily hair was in a French braid.

"Oh please, shut the flat walls." Mavis said to Ben in disgust.

"I don't need a full chest to impress girls, my cute face always gets the work done." Ben beamed proudly, taking a seat at the dinning table next to Leo.

Mavis also joined them on the table and replied fiercely. "Oh you mean the guy on red stinking boxers."
"Yo dad!." Ben exclaimed.

Randolph gave Mavis a sharp gaze. "Sweetie you don't talk to your elder brother that way."
Mavis rolled her eye balls.

The dishes were all set on the table as they started munching on them. Mavis cell phone chimed as she decided to check out the message.

Jane looked up to her.
"Mavis what did I say about cell phones while eating?."
"Jeez." Mavis surrendered and gently placed back the phone on the table.

After a short while again her phone chimed. She looked up to her mother. Their gaze met each other.

"Please let me check this one, it can be an emergency." Mavis pleaded.

"No, the message can wait." Jane answered gravely.

Mavis fumed. "I don't get it, does it kill?."

"Mavis for once just shut up and eat!." Randolph exclaimed angrily.

Mavis pursed her lips and was silent. Leo shrugged at her.
"F**k it!." She muttered silently, picked up her phone and angrily ran upstairs to her room.

The rest of the family just shook their head.

Car honks horn repeatedly. The street wasn't quite busy though aside from the few passing by vehicles. Sandy's restaurant was quiet. The multiple customers in seemed to mind their business.
