Since Estrilda's childhood, Thayne not only trained her, but also tried to give her parental love and care, playing board games, or reading books. Even to this day, the man calls the now grown-up "baby girl" to chess battles.
Estrilda, rooting over each move, creased a tense expression on her face. Moving the white pawn to the black King and Queen, she said:
"Check...mate?" Said the girl, still not understanding the clear rules of the game.
"Yes. Checkmate, baby." A kind, easy smile appeared on Thane's face. Estri's long, snow-white hair framed her pale face. A black dress, with long sleeves, a tight top, a sun skirt, and gilded edges of the piece. No armor, completely homemade garb. "Though, you're long past being a babe."
The girl sighed heavily, remembering her father. A handsome man. Genetically, he had passed his hair color to his daughter. And, now, he was dead, being a Graveborn. Baden remembers nothing. It was depressing.
"You know what?" Thayne asked, noticing the sadness on Estri's face.
"What?" A sword was instantly brought to the girl's throat. The girl grinned contentedly, and, stealthily and quickly, rummaged under the table with her hand, took her spear sword, and repelled the attack by bouncing back a few meters. "Come on!"
"Now that's what I need!" Tain shouted with a smile on his lips.
