"He invited you to his party!" Juliet squeaked. "Oh my god, you have to go! I wish I could come with you. Do you think he'll let me come with you? Oh gosh, I should come with you, as your guest! It's brilliant! Please take me with you Violet, I'll do anything, pleeaasseeee!"
"Hey, Juliet calm down!" At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if everyone in the neighborhood could hear us from Juliet's bedroom. "Look, Juliet, I'm not going." Juliet gave me a look of shock and horror. "What! Why not? His parties are amazing! And besides, it's Jason Matthews! You have to go!" I glared at her, irritably. "No Juliet, I don't HAVE to do anything. And you know I don't like parties. Or Jason" I said, angry that she had forgotten again, that I don't give a fuck about Jason. Or socializing. I wasn't like her in that way. And she often had a hard time remembering that. She gave me a pleading look. "Please Violet? I'm sorry. I know you don't like Jason or his parties. But could you please do this? For me?" She said, now on her hands and knees. I rolled my eyes. I wanted to say no. But she was so beautiful (as always) and honestly, I couldn't have said no if I tried. "I hate you" I mumbled. Juliet looked up at me excitedly. "Yayyyy! Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!" She squealed. She got up and hugged me tight. I hugged her back, breathing in the simple smell of her. She pulled back. "Let's go get ready!" She said, running over to her closet. I was regretting this already.

The first thing I smelled when I walked into Jason's house was alcohol. The smell was so strong, I gagged. Juliet however, jumped up and down excitedly, and yelled to me over the music- "THIS IS JUST WHAT I HOPED IT'D BE. I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO DO THIS. I'M GONNA GO GET A DRINK!" I nodded to her, and moved out of the doorway. The music was extremely loud. C'mon by Ke$ha was blasting from the speakers, and people were dancing all around me, drink in hand. I didn't drink. I wasn't a saint, I just didn't see a point to it until I was the appropriate age. Unlike Juliet, whose dream it was to underage drink. I wandered around the house for a bit, trying my best to avoid Jason, and crazy already-drunk people. I ended up sitting on a couch in the living room. There weren't many people in this room. Just a boy and a girl making out in a corner. I chose to ignore them. I had been sitting there for no more than five minutes, when I felt the seat next to me sink, as another person sat down. I turned, only to find none other than- of course, Jason. "Hey there baby" he said, attempting to sound flirty. I just sat there expressionless. "Hello, Jason." He smiled at me, revealing his dimple, yet again. "I see you changed your mind. Liking the party?" I smiled politely. "Yeah, it's pretty cool" I said casually, not wanting to seem rude. Jason pretended to frown at me. "Aw come on babe, don't be like that." Suddenly, I felt his hand on my thigh. "Jason.." I said cautiously. "What are you doing?" He just smiled at me. "Look, Violet. I've liked you for awhile. We both know that. And I think it's time we take our relationship further than just sitting here, feeling this undeniable chemistry that we have." I sat there staring at him for a good two minutes before he realized that I wasn't going to start leaning in to kiss him anytime soon."What?" He asked, obliviously. I continued to stare. "Jason. How fucking stupid are you?" Now it was his turn to stare. He sat there open mouthed, as though no girl had ever turned him down, and he had never expected me to. "I've never shown a bit of interest in you. Not in 3rd grade when you started liking me. Not in 4th grade when you gave me a valentine and tried to kiss me. Not in 5th grade when you tried to ask me to be your girlfriend. Not in 6th grade when you asked me to that dance. Not in 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, or 11th grade, and certainly not now. I hate to be so rude about this, but I've tried to be nice, I've tried to let you down easy, and you've never once listened to me, and now, it's getting annoying. So could you please go find another girl to crush on, and just leave me the hell alone?" I finished my rant, and crossed my arms, slightly out of breath. Jason just continued to stare, dumbfounded. "Jason, please?" After looking at me for a second longer, he stood up and walked away, a slightly glassy look in his eyes. I felt kinda bad, but at least he got the hint now. I mean, it took him till senior year, but it worked. "Wow. That was harsh" a voice said from behind me. I jumped, and turned. Behind the couch stood a girl. She had long, wavy, dark black hair, that reached the middle of her back. Her eyes were a dark gray, and she had a beautifully pale complexion. Her eyelashes were long and beautiful, and she had a light sprinkling of freckles across her nose. I blinked a few times before saying quickly- "He wouldn't leave me alone." The girl smiled, and laughed. "No, no, I get it. It's just funny. You looked so pissed when you were telling him off" she said, grinning like the Cheshire cat. She walked over and sat down next to me on the couch, taking Jason's place. "Don't worry, I'm not gonna rub my hands on your thigh, like that weirdo was" she said, winking. When she winked however, it didn't bother me. I laughed, my cheeks flushing. "Well thank god for that." The girl laughed even harder. She stuck out her hand to me, and said- "My name's Angel." I took her hand and shook it. "I'm Violet." Angel smiled at me. "Nice to meet you Violet. Maybe you've heard this before, but your name matches your hair. Kinda cute. Like you" she said smirking. I blushed furiously. I reached up to feel my short purple hair and smiled. She thought I was cute. Damn, I like this girl. Almost as much as I like Juliet.
