"I WISH I HAD CHOSEN YOU"

I wish I had chosen you when we were apart,
When distance made my heart ache and yearn,
I remember our laughter, the sound of your voice,
But the miles between us felt like a heavy choice.

Every call was a struggle across the empty space,
Every promise we made, now lost without a trace,
The distance was a pain I couldn’t escape,
And now I’m left with memories that break.

I wish I could go back to those hopeful days,
When your love was my guide through the lonely ways,
If only I had chosen you, no matter the pain,
Maybe my heart wouldn’t be so broken and strained.

Now your voice is a memory in my restless nights,
Your laughter a shadow in the dark and quiet,
I wish I had chosen you, despite the miles,
Instead, I’m here, crying all the while
