I cleaned their wounds thoroughly, scolding them the whole time I do so. They remain quiet, taking the treatment. I pull the last few shards of glass from Axel's forehead, making a face as I drop it on the pile that stayed on the side to be discarded afterwards. I shake my head once again at their foolish actions.
"Were you just expecting I'd stay downstairs? What if someone else had seen you three?!" I drop the tweezers as I grab the rag to clean the last of his wounds. He takes it, the youngest showering as the other sibling rummages for food. I finish cleaning, looking him over for any I might have missed. I avoid looking him directly, knowing what happens when I do. I nod.
"There." I say with sass as I pull back. He stops me from pulling back, switching me to his seat and he kneels before me now instead.
"What are you doi- I already said, I'm fine. I doubt it's even the bad." He grabs one of the unused rags I had incase I needed more, him using it to start cleaning my wound now instead.
"För dåligt. Du ska sitta medan jag städar den. To bad. Youre going to sit while I clean it." I look around but at him as he speaks low, his eyes focused on the small temple wound I had.
"She didn't even hit that hard. I think the boy Otto was fight hits harder." I comment, since the boy did after all manage to send him flying out a window. He shook his head, not reacting further as he stops cleaning it, his hand gently trailing down and stopping by my chin, moving my head around to examine with a detailed eye. I grow warm under his gaze.
"Du har ett blåmärke här också.. You have a bruise forming here, as well.." His thumb trails over my lower jaw, my eyes getting lost in his as he gets lost in my facial features. Maybe I had more marks from the fight, more I hadn't noticed.
"Jag är klar! Im finished!" I jump back in suprise as the youngest brother suddenly appears, happy by the reaction he got not only from me but his brother as well. Who pulled from me promptly and stood. Turning to the table to clean the mess. I start gather things too, putting them away.
"Thank you for taking me with you today. It was a lot of fun!" I stand before the three as they made themselves comfy, their looks unconvinced.
"Promise though you guy'll be careful, if this is really what you three are doing then, I'd like your word you'll be safe out there.." I stare at the three hard, the middle sighing exaggeratedly as the youngest smiles heartfully, nodding instantly. The middle gives a lame nod, agreeing as if by force. I looked to the eldest, who stares at me with unreadable eyes.
"Promise." I push. He silently breathes in, nodding his head as he closes his eyes. As if it was such a difficult question. Or perhaps my request just threw him off..
"Good! Well, I'm tired, I'm heading to bed. I'll see you three in the morning."
The brothers woke up as if nothing had happened the next day. The only reminder being the lingering scrape or bruises. I sat at the table boredly as Otto vacuumed vigorously, Oscar trying to comfort the cats. I looked at Axel, and at the picture I've seen him look at so many times in the past. He catches my eye as I sulk on my fist out of boredom, straightening myself as he notices my onlooking. He raises a brow, folding the picture down onto the table in front of himself. I look at it, and back at him.
