Returning to Borlan's Stall

The familiar sights and sounds of the bustling Midnight Market greet you as you leave the more dangerous parts of town behind. You weave through the crowds, finally arriving at Borlan's stall, where the comforting smells of stew and spices fill the air. The tension of the evening begins to ease as you step back into the warmth of the market's heart.

Borlan is still busy tending to the last few customers of the night, his usual cheerful demeanor helping to close out the day on a high note. When he sees you approach, he waves you over, a broad grin on his face.

"Ah, there ye are, Larry! Long day, eh? Ye look like ye could use a good rest," he says, his voice full of warmth.

You nod, feeling the weight of the night's events catching up with you. "Yeah, it's been... eventful. I've got some things I need to look over, but I think I'll do that in the morning. Right now, rest sounds like a good idea."

Borlan pats you on the back, his grin softening into a more understanding smile. "Aye, lad. Ye've been workin' hard, and it shows. Get some rest, and we'll tackle whatever's on yer mind tomorrow. No sense in pushin' yerself too far."

Resting for the Night

You head to the small area behind the stall where Borlan has set up a place for you to sleep. It's simple but comfortable, and after the events of the evening, it feels like a sanctuary. You carefully store the items you've gathered in a safe spot, ensuring they're well-hidden until you have time to properly examine them.

As you lie down, the events of the night swirl through your mind—the mysterious woman, the hidden items, and the dangerous ritual connected to the Heartstone. There's much to unravel, but for now, you let your thoughts settle and allow yourself to rest.

Preparing for Tomorrow

When morning comes, you'll have a lot to discuss with Borlan and potentially Thalgrim. The items you've gathered could hold the key to understanding the Heartstone and the dark forces surrounding it. But for now, you close your eyes, letting the sounds of the market lull you into sleep, knowing that you're one step closer to uncovering the truth.

The next morning, you wake early, the events of the previous night still fresh in your mind. You know that the information you've uncovered is crucial, and Thalgrim's expertise might be exactly what you need to make sense of it all. Gathering the items you took from the hidden room—the small black stone, the bloodstained cloth, the vials, the journal, and the ritual instructions—you prepare yourself for the conversation ahead.

Visiting Thalgrim

You make your way through the market, which is just starting to wake up with the dawn. Vendors are setting up their stalls, and the air is filled with the smells of fresh bread, spices, and morning dew. The bustle of the market is comforting, a stark contrast to the tension of the previous night.

Thalgrim's usual spot near the Shadowed Arch is quiet, as the morning has not yet drawn in the usual crowd. You find him setting out his trinkets, his sharp eyes already scanning the market for early business.

When he sees you approach, he gives a slight nod, a gesture of acknowledgment and curiosity. "Larry, early as usual. What brings you here so soon?"

You return the nod, your expression serious. "Thalgrim, I need to speak with you privately. There's something important I've uncovered, and I could really use your expertise."

Thalgrim's eyes narrow slightly, sensing the gravity in your tone. He gestures for you to follow him. "Very well. Let's step inside—there's a place nearby where we won't be disturbed."
