"Alright, see you tomorrow, Autumn!" Marjorie says to Autumn who is leaving.
"Goodbye, Marjorie." Autumn replies as she leaves the office.
"Right now let's sort out this final bit of paperwork before I go." Marjorie was alone in the office, but not in the building. Charlotte was in the toddler room, wiping down the tables before she goes. Marjorie remembered she forgot to ask Charlotte about her holiday with Mia. She had taken her to France for a few days. Marjorie heads to the toddler room and sees Charlotte. "Alright, my love?"
"Oh, hey Marjorie!" Charlotte turns to Marjorie.
"Soo, how was it in France?" Marjorie asks.
"It was so lovely. Mia and I went to see the Eiffel Tower at night and it was all lit up, it was absolutely gorgeous." Her face was showing how grateful she was.
"That sounds nice. And how's.." Marjorie hesitates, "Mia?"
"She's doing good, unfortunately she already left."
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know that."
"It's okay. Anyway, I should go get my bag from the staffroom, and I'll see you tomorrow?" Charlotte says.
"Alright, see you." Marjorie heads back to the office and sits down on her chair. She looks on her desk and there is a small, unusual box. "Huh. That's odd." Marjorie picks it up and looks at it. "I've never seen anything like this before." The box was black and in the shape of a hexagon. It also had a red pattern on top of it. She opens the lid and there was a bright, red and white flash. Marjorie dropped the box and shielded her face with her arm. When the flash was over, she opened her eyes and was in shock to see a weird flying creature in front of her.
"Hi!" The creature says.
"Oh my god." Marjorie found it hard to get any words out. "OH MY GOD."
"Calm down, Marjorie. Let me explain." The creature was flying towards her.
Marjorie immediately gets up from her chair and backs away. "WHAT ARE YOU? WHY ARE YOU HERE? AND HOW DO YOU KNOW MY NAME?"
"If you'll stay calm, I'll explain everything." The creature sits on her desk.
"Okay. I think?" Marjorie slowly goes back to her seat and sits down. "So uh, what are you?"
"My name is Tikki, and I am a kwami!" Tikki starts explaining.
"You're a what?" Marjorie is still so confused.
"I'm a kwami! I give you superpowers." Tikki continues.
"SUPERPOWERS? ALRIGHT, WHO'S PRANKING ME?" She looks around the room, but it's empty. Only herself is in there with Tikki.
"It's not a prank. I promise." Tikki says.
"I don't understand. Am I a 36 year old woman who is hallucinating?"
"Nope! Not at all." Tikki smiles.
"Well, okay. Uh. I'm just gonna go and tell Char about this." Before Marjorie is able to get up, Tikki stops her.
"No, you can't tell anyone about this! Friends, family, anyone. Nobody can know."
"Say what now?" At this point, Marjorie felt like she was in a dream. This all seemed too unrealistic; She was just a manager of a nursery, what was happening?
"I'm sorry to come here so unexpectedly, but the town is in danger." Tikki says sternly.
"What sort of danger?"
"Another person has stolen a magical jewel, and we don't know whether they will use it for the greater good or for the worst. We need to be prepared for what's to come." Tikki flies down to the desk and sits down.
"Oh my goodness, but why me?" Marjorie is confused as to why she has been chosen. "I mean, it could've really been anyone, but why have I been chosen for this?"
"You are the chosen one. You must've done something good in order to get the miraculous of the ladybug; it's very powerful." Tikki says.
"How powerful we talkin?" Marjorie says, feeling a bit of pressure. The only power she has ever had is being the manager.
"Don't worry about it! Anyways, put the earrings on, and they should blend in so they don't look like they're magical or anything." Tikki flies back to the box laying on the floor, and picks up the earrings. She flies in front of Marjorie and holds them out to her.
"I'm not too sure about this." Marjorie chuckles nervously.
"Trust me, please." Tikki pleads.
"Alright then." As she was putting the earrings on, the office door opens.
"Marjorie, I'm going to be heading home now." It was Charlotte.
Marjorie jumps. "Oh! Hah, alright my love. I'll see you tomorrow." She tries not to be suspicious.
"You okay, Marjorie?" Charlotte asks.
"Yes, yes. Everything's fine, Char. Just getting ready to leave." Marjorie logs off her computer and smiles to Charlotte.
"Okay, bye!" Charlotte walks out, and closes the office door.
"That was close." Marjorie says. "Tikki?"
"I agree. Maybe we should head home now?" Tikki suggests.
"Yeah, yeah. We can go now." Marjorie looks around the room. "Uh, how do I get you home without anybody seeing you?"
"I can fly through objects, I can easily fit inside your bag!"
"Oh, uh.. okay."
Marjorie and Tikki go to Marjorie's house and they tell themselves about each other. They don't know when they will need to get ready for action, if there is any action. This is all just a precaution for now. Little did Marjorie know, Reece would also be getting a shock that same afternoon.
