Edward Cullen's honey-golden eyes widened as he turned towards his sister Alice. The Cullen Coven, a group of vampires under one creator, were currently in the Amazon Rainforest in South America, hunting the red-headed vampire known as Victoria. Edward had killed her mate last year to save his ex-girlfriend's life, and as such his family were now tracking the redhead to make sure she can't enact revenge against them.
However she had managed to give them the slip once again, her tracks vanished and now they were running in circles trying to catch it. However, something has caught his attention.

Before traveling out of Forks, Washington their home for the past 3 years, or at least that's what the humans thought, Edward had confirmed Bella's future with his clairvoyant sister, he wanted to make sure that she would be safe and that her life promised happiness without the existence of monsters like themselves. However now something has changed, that couldn't be true? Edward thought as the scene played in Alice's mind.
Screams filled the air as the town looked at the scene in horror, there lay Bella Swan in a pool of her own blood. Pale, delicate, fragile and above her was an unknown vampire, his mouth on her neck draining her essence. Bella's eyes fluttered weakly before shutting as she succumbed to death.
The blond creature stopped momentarily and stared at its onlookers with a bloody smile, his icy blue eyes were smug before he continued his meal, blood dripping down his lips coating Bella's lifeless corpse.

As Alice returned to consciousness her eyes turned to Edward in horror before settling on fear as he snarled at her, displeased with the vision he saw in her brain.
"You promised." At that moment Edward wasn't sure who he felt more disappointed in, Alice for failing to see this scenario beforehand or himself for believing everything would be fine if he left. Before they decided to leave their home he and Alice sat through every possible outcome, every future that featured Bella and at that time the future said Bella would be happy, she would grow old, have children and die a human fulfilling a life.
Edward left because he had been secure in the idea that she would be safe without him and now a feeling of hopelessness threatened to overcome him. Everything was for naught and she would die at the hands of a vampire.

"I know," Alice said trying to assuage him, "But you know things can change, vampires are flighty, it truly didn't seem like another would find its way to Forks for the next century," She defended her visions as if she were defending herself. She had been made to feel as if she were at fault when something unexpected ensued, but she wasn't omnipotent. She always had a soft spot for Bella, hoping that one day she might join their family, but now–
"You were wrong and Bella might die for it," Edward couldn't help but growl.

"Don't you dare blame this on Alice, out of everyone you should know how these things work by now!" Rosalie sneered. She gave Alice a sympathetic look before glaring at Edward. Emmett and her had caught up with the two after hearing Edward and Alice's heated discussion. Of course it's about Bella, is he even capable of thinking of anything else? "So she dies, that's what humans do. This is what you prepared yourself to face when we left, isn't that what you wanted for her to die human?" It's not as if anyone will notice her gone.

Edward's hands wrapped themselves around his sister's neck before another word could be uttered from her mouth, and another thought could cross her mind. Not for the first time he was disgusted by how cold and shallow she could be.
Rosalie to her credit, while surprised at first, she clawed and spat at Edward, her sharp nails racking his face leaving behind deep red scars before ultimately fading faster than they had appeared. However try as she might she was unable to free herself from his grasp. He was older than her and although not by much he was still stronger.
"That is not why we left," Edward hissed, feeling the venom swell in his mouth at his anger. He gritted his teeth eager to tear her pretty throat out.

However he was forced to release Rosalie by the supernatural strength of her mate Emmett. His overwhelming strength was more than Edward could handle, even though Emmett was younger, that was his talent. Emmett threw Edward with the precision of an Olympic discus athlete sending him flying through the forest trees, each breaking by the force of body. He picked himself unscathed, brushing off wood chips from his clothes. 3 trees had fallen in the Amazon with only vampires to hear it.
