The atmosphere at Dominion University shifted palpably in the days following Dominic’s revelations. The tension was almost suffocating, the calm before a storm that I knew was coming. Dominic and I were walking a tightrope, trying to prepare for whatever Isabella had planned, but it was hard to shake the feeling that something was about to break.

Dominic had become even more protective, constantly watching over me, his gaze sharp and vigilant whenever we were together. There was a darkness in him now, a determination that was both reassuring and frightening. I knew he would do whatever it took to keep me safe, but at what cost?

Isabella, on the other hand, had been eerily quiet. She still moved around campus with that same air of confidence, her cold smile and sharp gaze unnerving as ever, but there was something beneath the surface—something she was keeping hidden. It was like she was waiting for the perfect moment to strike, and the anticipation was driving me to the edge.

One afternoon, as I sat in one of my classes, I found myself unable to concentrate. My professor’s voice was a distant hum, the words on the pages of my notebook blurring together as my thoughts kept drifting back to Dominic and Isabella.

I felt like I was being watched, my skin prickling with unease. I glanced around the classroom, but no one was paying any attention to me. Still, the feeling persisted, and I couldn’t shake the sense of impending doom that had settled in the pit of my stomach.

When the class finally ended, I hurried out of the room, my heart pounding. I needed to find Dominic, to tell him about the growing sense of dread that had been gnawing at me. Maybe he could help me make sense of it, help me figure out what Isabella was planning.

As I made my way through the crowded corridors, I felt a hand on my arm, pulling me to the side. I turned quickly, expecting to see Dominic, but instead, I found myself face-to-face with Isabella.

My breath caught in my throat as she looked at me, her expression cool and composed, but her eyes held a dangerous glint. “Evelyn,” she said, her voice smooth as silk. “We need to talk.”

I swallowed hard, trying to keep my voice steady despite the fear that shot through me. “What do you want, Isabella?”

She smiled, but it didn’t reach her eyes. “Why don’t we go somewhere more private?” she suggested, her grip on my arm tightening slightly.

I glanced around, but the corridors were crowded with students, all of them oblivious to the tension between us. I didn’t want to go anywhere with Isabella, didn’t want to be alone with her, but I knew I didn’t have much of a choice.

“Fine,” I said, my voice wavering slightly.

Isabella’s smile widened, and she led me through the maze of hallways, her grip on my arm never loosening. As we walked, I couldn’t help but wonder what she had planned, what she was going to say. My mind raced with possibilities, each one more terrifying than the last.

Finally, she stopped in front of an empty classroom and pushed open the door, gesturing for me to enter. I hesitated for a moment, but then stepped inside, my heart pounding in my chest.

Isabella followed me in, closing the door behind her with a soft click. The room was empty, the desks and chairs neatly arranged, the sunlight streaming in through the windows casting long shadows across the floor. The air felt heavy, charged with the tension between us.

Isabella walked over to one of the desks and leaned against it, crossing her arms over her chest as she watched me with that same cold, calculating gaze. “You’ve become quite the problem, Evelyn,” she said, her voice laced with something dark.
