Cloudy - any, preferably she/her

The room was silent other than the sounds of a pencil scribbling and gliding against the no longer empty paper. A girl with long, sky blue hair – whose heart-shaped ahoge was floating above her black bow – can be seen drawing something in her room, her desk was occupied by her sketchbook and a case filled with pencils of different colors. The girl's doodling was interrupted when she heard her door creak open. "Cloudyyy!" Her younger brother whined out her name.

"Where's my penguin!?" He asked, his tone was as if he was accusing her of taking his stuffed penguin and hid it somewhere. "Why would I know? I've been here the whole time." Cloudy simply answered as she raised an eyebrow, trying her best not to smile so that her brother doesn't suspect her. She knew he didn't believe her, she always got better at lying whenever she'd do something like this. But he sighed and left her room, leaving the door open for Cloudy to close herself.

As soon as she closes the door, she let herself smile as she walks over to her desk. Underneath it was her backpack, and inside her backpack hid a stuffed penguin.. her brother's stuffed penguin. Cloudy chuckled before hearing her door open again and a boy yelling "I knew it!" Cloudy instantly ran to her bed, getting on top of it while keeping the stuffed penguin out of her brother's reach. "Give it back!" He whined, trying to retrieve his precious stuffed animal while his sister giggled mischievously.

The siblings got incredibly caught up in their mischief that they didn't notice someone else had also entered the room.

"Stop jumping on the bed, you two! Cloudy, give the penguin back to Luna." The two siblings immediately stopped bouncing on the bed, getting off and back on the floor like their mom told them to as Cloudy gave the stuffed toy back to her brother, Luna. "Luna, I need to talk to your sister for a moment." Their mom said, making Luna let out a chuckle as he thought it meant that Cloudy was in trouble. Luna blew raspberries at his sister before running out of the room, making Cloudy roll her eyes at him.

It was just Cloudy and her mom. The blue-haired girl felt nervous, since she also thinks that she was in trouble. But to her surprise... "You're going back to school, sweetie!" Cloudy blinked at that, trying to process the information that was just dropped on her.

She's going back to school?.. After dropping out almost a year ago?... Seriously!?..

"You're serious?" Cloudy asks, trying to make sure that she heard right. Her mom nods. "I'm.. going back to school?" Her mom nods again, confirming that she heard her correctly. Before she could say anything in response, her mom speaks again. "But you have to restart high school, which means you have to go back to being a Freshman."

"... WHAT!?" Cloudy yelled, her own voice echoing in her room as she watches her mother leave with no further explanation, only leaving a small note that she would have to go back in two weeks. She stood there silently, processing everything her mom just told her and trying to imagine what her future as the oldest Freshman would look like. The girl walks to her bed and flops her body onto the mattress, her face buried in the blanket.

She turns her body to stare at the ceiling above her. For minutes, she was stuck in her own train of thoughts until she heard her door open again. Cloudy turns to see that it was Luna, who carried a smug expression on his face. Cloudy was confused for a moment before Luna started speaking. "That's what you get for taking my penguin!" He said, blowing raspberries after... He thought she was grounded! Cloudy let herself snicker before bursting into laughter at the assumption made by her brother.

"I'm not grounded, you stinkhead!" Cloudy laughed.

"Yuh-uh! Why else would you scream that loud?"

"Mom told me I was going back to school, you idiot."

"WHAAAT!? No way!" Luna crossed his arms, acting as if it was hard to believe that his own sister got re-enrolled back in school. Cloudy couldn't help herself, she was dying from laughter as she saw her brother's expression of stubbornness and disbelief. "And don't call me stinky! I don't stink!" Cloudy managed to get herself to stop laughing so hard, looking back at her brother who still stood by her door. "Oh yeah? When was the last time you showered?"

"Last week! When was the last time you showered?"

"This morning, idiot!" Cloudy chuckled at her dumb little brother. But even with their constant bickering, Cloudy knew she still loves him and she knows that Luna loves her back, even if he won't admit it. Enough about that though, Cloudy still has one more issue she has to worry about. "Anyway, you're cooking dinner tonight, right?" Luna asked... Two more things she has to worry about. Making dinner which can be figured out tonight and having to go to school in two weeks.
