Every time I heard these types of words, I shivered and broke out in a cold sweat. I knew very well why. I immediately remembered all the things that made me not a perfect student, and what my mother would have been about. And besides, I never knew what exactly was going on. I lived with my mother, with inflated standards - of course I was a great liar. I was able to come up with a story and the perfect lie in a moment. It was worse when I didn't know what exactly was going on. What's she knew? Is it one thing? Or maybe everything? Such situations paralyzed me.
My fist instinctively clenched on the nearest part of my shirt. Sometimes, I would crumple it so much that I couldn't iron it.
- Yes, what's going on? - I swallowed, then controlled my breathing, trying to play composed.
The woman smiled warmly, as if a moment ago she hadn't looked like she wanted to kill me.
- I thought you'd be good for the school performance. Why did she look so stern a moment ago?
I focused on her proposal. Do I want it? Of course not. I've lza cieisted the reasons why I don't too many times. Oh, maybe what do I really want? My mother's approval? Oh yes.
- Very willingly! I smiled with confidence. - What kind of performance is it about?
So what if I lie? I don't give a shit about this show, but no one needs to know about it.
- I mean the performance ending the school year.
Oh Shit.
-I understand. So far, I've taken part in every one, so it will be nice to continue the tradition.
It was about a performance organized on the occasion of the end of the school year. They had been preparing for it for a long time, and many people were involved. The main topic was usually to draw attention to a given problem. My mother forced me to take part in them, because it was a great distinction.
- That's great - she said. - Next Friday at 4:00 p.m., I am organizing a meeting for those interested, where we will discuss everything. We will certainly find something for everyone. Don't forget to announce it on your Instagram - she was about to leave the room, but she took a step back. - I predict a dance role for you. - She left the office and a moment later the whole room
Another duty, yay.

Coming home after school could mean two things. Usually it was a short calm. I washed myself and enjoyed silence, which was far too rare in my life. Then I would lock myself in a room and my family would come back. It was worse, when I couldn't get enough of the peace because my mother and Diego were already home. Unfortunately, this usually meant suffering. I tried to hide in the room, but I didn't always succeed.
That was the case today. Just as I was about to start unlocking the door, it suddenly opened and my mother was standing in it. At first I thought she was angry and that's why she opens it for me right away to scold me faster. Fortunately, she was just talking on the phone, and when I was taking off my shoes, she confidently went to the kitchen, without interrupting the phone conversation.
I glanced across the apartment as I hung my jacket on the hanger. Diego was making himself something to eat, in just shorts, and Seo-hyun sprawled out on the couch, not paying attention to anything else. After all, she was gossiping with her favorite cousin.
- Did she betray him? With who?! - I rolled my eyes, as if I were perfect myself. In fact, I loved to gossip myself, but I didn't have time for it. I just couldn't wait for my mother to start telling me family gossip. She always did.
