NA-RA

The next morning i decided to head to out to the castle since it had been a while i had seen Heeseung and Father. The drive was slightly long since the castle was further away from us.

"Your father said he wanted to speak to you about something today. Did he tell you anything before we came here?" Jake asked as we got out of the car and headed inside. I was greeted by a few maids.

"No he didn't." I replied.

As we headed inside i saw Heeseung, father and the lady whom i call mother waiting for us. I greeted them all and only hugged Heeseung and father. "Let us head to the dining room." Father said.

"How have you been Na-Ra?" Heeseung asked, "i hope Jake's taking care of you."

I smiled and shook my head as Heeseung lightly nudged Jake, "I know you're bored without me." I said to Heeseung .

"I really am, i don't have anyone to talk and mother nags at me for everything." Heeseung sighed, "can't you come back to the castle?"

I chuckled, "no, and you better get used to it."

We arrived to the dining room and sat down for lunch. Jake sat next to me and opposite Heeseung. Mother was unfortunately opposite me and father at the end of the table; he was the head.

Food was already on the table and we waited for father to pick up his utensils first to eat and then we all shortly followed after.

"So Na-Ra how is it living away from the castle." Father asked.

"Oh it's been great, i love the independence." I replied and i noticed the snarky look mother had given me.

"That's good to hear." Father continued, "I did want you both to come here for lunch but i thought i'd also tell you about the changes happening."

I stopped eating and looked around the table, Heesseung and father seemed nervous and mother for some reason seemed almost giddy.

"We have decided to delay Heeseung's coronation by two months." Father said. I analysed their faces, they were nervous about something else.

"That's okay, delays happen." I said trying to be reassuring. But i knew there was something else. There always was.

"Me and your mother have also decided now would be the best time for you to meet potential prospects."

And there it was. The smirk on mother's face, this is what she had been waiting for; waiting for me to erupt. Everyone had stopped eating by now, anticipating for my response.

"Okay." I ate the last bit on my food and put the utensils down, "is that all? If you'll excuse me." Everyone was silent, it probably wasn't the response they were expecting.

JAKE

I excused myself and followed Na-Ra out. I stood behind her giving some distance between us as she walked out into the garden. She hadn't noticed me and i decided to give her space.

There was a swinging bench in the garden where Na-Ra was sitting. She looked exhausted. Her hair was slightly draping covering a little of her side profile.

I wanted to hold her again.

She noticed me and smiled while tucking in a strand of hair behind her ears she walked over to me. "what are you doing leaning against a tree?" She was smiling but i knew she was keeping her anger and hurt inside.

"oh nothing, just admiring the view." I said, "want to take a walk?"

She nodded her head and her eyes glistened underneath the sun. "Jake" she called out my name as we began walking, "do you think i should meet the potential prospects?"

I was flustered and caught off guard, i wasn't expecting her to ask me that. Just before i could answer Heeseung had come up to us.

"There you both are!" He said, "Na-Ra, are you okay?"

Na-Ra nodded her head but it was clear she wasn't okay, she was only putting up a front. I hadn't been able to answer Na-Ra's question straight away since we got caught up in other things.

We stayed at the castle for tea and then headed back before it became dark.

"Have a safe journey and please take care of Na-Ra for me." Na-Ra's father said as we bid goodbye.

We headed into the car and drove off. The ride was silent but the gentle sound of the rain filled it up.

"Jake you didn't answer my question." Na-Ra spoke. "I know we didn't get the time before but i want to hear your answer now."

We were closer to home now but i still hadn't give a response to her, "would my response change your choice?" I asked, curious.

She was silent for a moment, "maybe, maybe not." At this point we had already reached home and i parked the car.

"Okay then if you really want to know, i don't think you should meet the potential prospects." I said just before getting out of the car and opening the door for her.

Na-Ra looked at me for a moment, her eyes still glistening in the rain. The rain was falling on us as we didn't have an umbrella and we weren't far from the door.

"Why?" she asked holding onto my arm.

This was dangerous. Her touch was already making me go insane. We were still standing in the rain, waiting for my response. "why don't you want me to meet them?" She continued.

"Because i've fallen for you."
