First Day

After summer vacation finished, Afton boys started another year of kindergarten classes, but this time in a new place.

William drove the boys to the kindergarten with Clara sitting next to him on the passenger's seat.

Like a typical 4 year old, Micheal was excited to meet new people and make new friends. On the other side his older brother Alex was shy and nervous. Compared to England he hasn't met any other kid in the neighborhood.

When they arrived at the kindergarten the couple dropped their younger son to the class without any problem. They walked the older one to his new classroom full of other children his age.

When they entered the room, Terrence's new teacher, Mrs. Dolores Cleveland got surprised at Mr. Afton's height, just like the kids around the teacher and the young parents, but it was nothing new to him.

The young, brown haired woman, dressed in elegant and suitable for kindergarten clothing greeted Mrs. and Mr. Afton. She looked at the boy who clung to his father's pants scared and nervous of the new place and people.

D: Hello there, you must be Terrance Alexander. Nice to meet you. I'm Dolores and I'm your new teacher.

She smiled at the boy to make him feel more welcome and calmer, but it did not help as he still clung to his father's leg.

C: Come on, Alex, don't be like that, soon you'll probably like coming to kindergarten.

Terry shook his head and hid behind his dad. The boy didn't want to let go off William's leg making him let out a sigh.

The man picked up his son and made him look at him.

W: Listen Terry. You're not a little boy anymore. Whether you like it or not you're growing up and you'll start to meet new people. With time you'll start getting independent, and today is one of those days when you have to face your fears and meet other kids in new kindergarten.

Alex looked at his dad a little angry but he knows he's right.

The boy looked over his shoulder at the other kids playing with each other and let out a sad and nervous sigh.

C: Baby, it'll be okay.

Clara brushed her son's hair softly for comfort.

W: How about when you come home I'll make your favorite chocolate muffins with raspberry?

Terrance looked at his dad a little mad, but he knew he couldn't resist the muffins.

T: Fine...

W: That's my boy! We'll come for you around 2 pm.

C: Have fun, sweetie!

Alex watched as his parents walked out of the room. He felt nervousness go through him once again.

Mrs. Cleveland pat Alex's head.

D: How about I introduce you to other kids, Terrance?

She proposed catching the boys' attention. She took a surprised glimpse at his heterochromic eyes. Alex let out a sigh.

T: Okay...

In class Micheal sat by a table and doodled on paper. A girl sat in front of him and watched him draw making Mike irritated and nervous. He looked up at the girl.

M: Why are you watching me?

She just smiled at him and leaned closer, examining him.

:Your eyes are really pretty, my brother also has blue eyes.
