She could barely comprehend the loss. The world around her was a blur of darkness, the edges of her vision fading as she fought to remain conscious. The pain was excruciating, a searing agony that pulsed with every beat of her heart. But more than the physical torment, it was the emotional devastation that threatened to consume her. Her mother was dead, and she, too, was supposed to die alongside her. It had all been part of their cruel plan.

But Ramiel was not dead. Not yet.

A soft rustling sound reached her ears, faint but distinct in the oppressive silence of the cave. She struggled to open her eyes, the lids heavy as if weighed down by iron. When she finally succeeded, she saw a figure standing at the mouth of the cave, cloaked in tattered, ancient robes that seemed to whisper the secrets of the ages.
