After we get to where we are going, I am done walking for at least a week. And this scenery this is awful, all I can see is this brown tail right in front of me that every once in a while, flicks me in the face. Looking out of the corner of my eye to my eye I see Lucifers black looking straight ahead of us watching where we are going. And to my left is his Beta, who is a dark burgundy color with more of shaggy hair. Right in front of me is none other than Jonathan in his dark chocolate colored wolf. Also, the tail that keeps hitting right in the nose. How hard is it to keep your tail lowered or even walk faster so there wouldn't be this problem.
"Bite it" Winter whispered as if anyone can hear her. Smirking internally, I take another glance really fast to right and left to see that those two are still looking straight ahead.
"Mate, what are you thinking?" Lucifer said more out of curiosity than anything.
"How hard I should bite his tail" I replied chuckling slightly.
"However hard you want to; you can do anything you want, and no one will say anything to you" he said seriously
"Interesting I said" Paying attention to not get hit by his damn tail again.
Putting a little pep into my step I start to walk slightly faster where it wouldn't be too noticeable but would give me a better advantage point at grabbing his tail. Seeing it coming back towards my face I open my and bite down perfect timing, biting his tail right in the middle. Hard enough for him to feel it but not hard enough to hurt him.
Jonathan after feeling the pressure quickly turns around which cause his tail to be ripped out of my mouth and for him to snap at my face. But seeing as I have the assistance of both my vampire and even my demon, I am a lot faster than him. Seeing his teeth coming towards my face I quickly get into a crouch and dart upwards towards his neck biting hard enough again just for the pressure and not to actually hurt him. Taking him by surprise he suddenly freezes and roll overs to his stomach submitting to me. Acting as if nothing happened, I step over him and continue on my way.
"If we are trying to keep what we are a secret you are off to a bad start." Winter mutters to know as if I didn't know that already.
"Your very fast for a female wolf." Lucifer said in the mind link.
"That sounds a bit sexist." I said in return and closing the link.
Hearing him fall back into step behind I start to walk faster to wherever this "home" is at because I am in desperate need of a hot shower and not these cold river washes. And hopefully some alone time, I am not used to being around so many other shifters for this long or people in general. I like my peace and quiet it brings me peace from long days like these.
Feeling him and his beta, whose name I still haven't asked yet fall into step next to me I quicken the pace hoping we are close to our destination. After what feels like walking for hours nonstop in reality it was maybe four hours top, I finally see a giant clearing with a castle right in the middle of it. Sensing that lucifer stopped walking I also stop as the rest of his pack continues walking on.
"Are you ready to meet the rest of our pack" He asked. Turning to face him I didn't notice that he shifted back to his human form. Quickly doing the same I turn to look at the castle one more time before facing him again.
"Our pack?" I question looking at him curiously. "How can this be our pack? I don't even know you or anyone here."
"Simple enough, you're my mate so therefor this is our pack, and we will lead them together." He said as if it was the most normal thing to person.
"What is a mate?" I spoke.
Looking at me as if I had three heads and with eyes wide open, he replied "You will find out in due time my mate." And with that he grabbed my hand and started walking towards the castle guiding us towards the gate. And seeing how they are at least 10 miles away and I was sick of walking I decided it was a great idea to jump on his back, but now I have to come up with a plan to get him to let go of my hand for a second.
"Any ideas" I ask Winter. "Shhhh" she replied already going to bed in the back of my mind.
Seeing that there was a random row of trees in front of us he would have no choice but to let my head go because walking side by side we both wouldn't be able to fit through them. Letting go of his head I heard him grunt so I motioned for him to walk in front of me. Seeing as this was my opportunity, once he made it through the trees and before he could turn around to grab my hand again, I quickly put my hands on his shoulders and jump up. Instantly feeling his hands on my thighs, giving them a comfortable squeeze. I put my head on his shoulder already feeling my eyes getting heavy with sleep.
"Wake me up, when we get there" I said sleepy to him as I wrapped my arms kind of around his body as the darkness starts to consume me.
Chuckling in reply I feel him slightly slow his pace, so he wasn't bouncing me around as much and with that I fell into a peaceful sleep with the scent of pine and rainwater and the birds chirping in the background.
