Recap:

"Chief, ignore him. just take him to the cell and forget about what he said. we wouldn't want you ending up in a cell either, now would we?" I mentioned knowing he had a history and it would make him think before he did anything.

The officer huffed before loosening his grip slightly on Hans's arm and walking with him out of the room and down the hall to the holding room. I sighed and sat down at the table in the interrogation room before running my hand through my hair.

Eventually, I decided to go through the emails and reply to them as we all waited for a trial date to come back from the court since Hans decided to plead innocent. It had been two days he'd been left in the cell and by the look of him it seemed to be he didn't like small spaces.

After I had finished my emails I got up only to be stopped by the chief. He was still annoyed that I told him to ignore Hans' remark, however he had cooled off in his own time.

"Kingsley, you're on lunch duty. I've got papers to finish off so no questions." He said walking to his office so I couldn't even argue with him about it. I sighed and shook my head before walking to the cafeteria and grabbing the trolley. I looked at the food and made sure there was enough for all the inmates in the cells, I then made my way down the hall with the food.

I got to the holding cells and put the brakes on the trolley so it wouldn't decide to roll away from me. I grabbed a couple of trays of food and balanced them on my arm, I handed out the food to the inmates. getting insulted every so often to the point where I wanted to throw the food at them however, I wasn't allowed to.

I grabbed the last tray and sighed knowing this inmate would insult me. Thank god. I walked to the end of the holding cells, the tray resting in my hand, I looked at Hans and sighed softly.

"Wow. Five-star service today. Yesterday your boss decided he wanted to threaten me. I'll be sure to have my lawyer look into that for me" He said, looking at me as I held his tea in my hand. I could see the smallest little smirk pull at the corner of his lips as he took in the sight of my figure.

"Go ahead, he's an asshole anyways and needs to be taught a lesson. If you need there's CCTV with audio as well. However, I'm sure your lawyer will want to look after that anyway." I replied, pushing the tray through the cell door.

Hans got up from his cell bed before making his way over to the cell door, he reached his arm through the bars and grabbed onto my waist, pulling me closer to the bars and himself.

"For a copper, you seem to be doing a good job and trying to be on my side." He muttered quietly into my ear as he pulled me closer, close enough to feel his breath on my neck.
