Day 5 - Days Left 0

The next morning I wake up at six o'clock sharp. Exactly an hour before he is supposed to pick me up. I'm giddy with excitement and wonder. I quickly get out of bed and do my morning routine for the day. The first thing I do is make my bed, which consists of me getting a new pillowcase. Then I go to the bathroom to shower. I see the layers of makeup, hair product and mounds of glitter wash down the drain and the steam in the bathroom smells like Annamaria. When I get out of the shower I dry my hair, brush my hair, put my PJs back on —since I don't want to change till after I eat because I could get my clothes dirty, go downstairs, get a piece of fruit for breakfast and get Jax his breakfast along with fresh water, eat my food and finally I go back to my room and change into an outfit that will suit the day ahead. And all that only takes me a whopping twenty-five minutes. The only difference to my morning is that today I bring my plate of oranges, fruit of the day, to my room instead of eating at the dining room table or in the kitchen like I normally do so that I can figure out what to wear today.

He said "dress warm" so I believe that I have the perfect outfit. I go to my drawers and grab a pair of jeggings and my maroon sweater. I also grab a long-sleeved white shirt to wear under my sweater. This outfit seems warm enough. I open the drawer above and grab a pair of socks. When I shut the drawer I walk back to my bed and lay my outfit on it. I change as quickly as possible. I also pack one of my bags with my pocket knife, some money, my gloves (it gets pretty cold here), and my water bottle. The finial thing I do is tell Jax that it's time for his walk and I almost run as fast as he does to get out my door. When I get to the front door I grab my coat off its hook, slip on my white sneakers, and walk out the door. The time on my watch now reads 6:35.

I have done Jax's normal lap around my block one and a half times already and we usually do it three times but I have to stop. I look at my watch again. It's 6:48. Asher will be here soon and I still have to do a few things. "Alright, Jax, we'll have to cut your walk a little short today." Bark, bark, bark. "I know buddy but you will have a nice long one later. Maybe." I turn around and head back to my house at a jog. Jax runs beside me keeping my pace perfectly. My morning is going quicker than I thought it would. When we get inside Jax barks as Jordan, Mother, and to my surprise River and Noah come down the stairs. I guess they are staying here till Noah leaves, at which point River will either stay in Noah's old room or go to her house. I unclip his leash and he runs to them at full puppy speed. I smile and try to slip past the crowd of family without bumping into any of them to get to my room. And I almost make it except for the fact that Jordan grabs my wrist as I pass him. He pulls me up the rest of the stairs and guides me to my room as if I am blind. When we get in my room he shuts the door behind himself and lets go of my wrist. He then pulls a bow out of his pocket.

"I want to give this to you."

"Why do you want to give something to me? What is it for? Is it a trick for me hurting you the other day because I'm truly sorry."

He laughs as I take the box from his hands.

"All is well. Yesterday's incident is in the past. So back to the gift. Well, I was told by an anonymous source that the day I first met you was three days, If I remember correctly, after your birthday. So I thought to myself well Jordan you were pretty rude to her when you first met her, you should get her a gift. And so I have."

"Thank you, Jordan, really thank you. I know I will love it but uh I'll open it when I get back. I am leaving soon." I look at my watch to see how soon "soon" is, it's 6:57. Oh. Wow. Time flies when you're expecting and waiting on things. "Actually I'm leaving now, Jordan."

I walk away from him and walk to my bed. I then set the box that he gave me on my bed and grab my bag. When I turn back I see that he is gone. I don't think much about why he walked out without telling me before I rush out of my room. But I feel guilty for some reason.
